The rumours are that the leadership group didn’t approach him during his time off. The coaches and management should have seen this coming and prevented an escalation

Even if those 'rumours' are true, and the management didn't spot that, it is hardly egregious incompetence or unprofessionalism.

The Age is talking McKay. We

would also want their 1st round.

why tf would MFC want a forward, we have plenty of them, with JVR looking good for the future.

we need AAA midfielders, especially if one is leaving in this scenario

Really… the majority of the supporter base think otherwise

It’s a job for the players. Who wants to stay at a toxic workplace where certain employees are held less accountable and treated more favourably than others. Unless you know all of the details, how about taking it a little easier on Trac.

Pretty much all workplaces are toxic @Ethan Tremblay. The data is unambiguous on this. He won't find Carltank any less toxic - just the hue of the toxicity will be different.

He should go to a third world country for perspective...

Hello... Pick 5 and Pick 10?

Funny coz during the practice match against Carlton in the preseason a group of Carlton kids and their Italian parents were getting Tracs autograph, and he said something like, I should be playing for Carlton with so many Italian supporters!

Off the cuff remark, but absolutely gospel truth.

I swear if we fold and take the best of what’s available I’ll also cry like trac and walk !

can we please send him to stkilda or north if he wants out ! They have the picks and players ..

I'm staggered that you would base your view of the total incompetence of the club on a single rumour.  Even if true, it is hardly the sin of all time.  Get a grip.

We have state of the art facilities at Casey and at AAMI park.

It wouldn't be hard to choose between permanent inner-city (or close to it) facilities or regular trips to Cranbourne but it's not like he thought we were leaving Casey when he signed the contract so it would be an interesting excuse if true.

You basically just named McKay but with his kicking that’s a dead end we will have a 60 goal fwd and never make finals

Maybe I should have said a ruck who can forward. TDK.

But for the record I don't think either are going to want to be traded.

If Trac wants out and wants to go to a bigger club then send him to North for the Picks and LDU and let them deal with his diva demands for a bigger club.

Hard to see him staying now. Too much water under the bridge. I just hope we play hard ball for what we get in return for him.

trouble is when things get to this point that rarely happens.

Club needs to channel Jekyll and Hyde in the ANB and (if it happens) Trac trades given the statements made to date about ANB getting to where he wants. Boy I hope the club holds firm.

Very close parallels if true. More 'me' than 'we'.*

Yeah this is what I was thinking? He's got two weeks to prepare mentally for a final in Brisbane and this is whats coming at him from all angles...

My memory is awful, has there been many trades where a player (like a top 10 forward) were simply traded regardless of their want to leave? I know in other pro sports its a non issue as simply being 'part of the business' but in AFL I can't remember too many.

A disappointed and disgruntled Harry Mckay forced over in a trade would be just what we need right now...

Wasn’t Casey an hours drive two years ago when he signed for 7 years?

Sorry to say WCW he is GONSKI I heard this from an Ultra reliable source! Time we all move on eh!???

From her posts she has more than moved on.  I thought she was just making the point about what can be said publically to maintain your negotiating position.

Not sure whether this mess is on the club or the player really. I have my gut feel but it's not really relevant. Either way, the club can fix this and we can come out massive winners. I just hope we hold firm and demand a king's ransom. If he wants to go so bad then he needs to convince a club that it is worth their while to pay a very high price for him.

If what we're hearing is true, many of the concerns he has were well known to him when he signed his contract (e.g. crowds and Casey).

I would not be opposed to sending him to Gold Coast if it got us the best deal...no way we should send him to a Vic team unless the trade improves us more than them.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
