I suspect the mood will be a little somber this morning. It usually isn’t after a big loss, but this week feels different.

On the bright side, it’s not cold at all today, I have sensation in my hands which is always a good thing. And I’m sure it won’t rain because I remembered to bring an umbrella (it only rains when I don’t) 😭

No sign of the sun coming out so no excuse for cr@ppy quality vids. But we all know they’ll be cr@ppy nonetheless. 😝

If there are any other DL-ers here, please do us all a favour and furnish a training report. TIA 😘

Little known fact - its inventor wanted to call it a "brella", but hesitated at the Patents Office.

 No sign of Max.

I'm guessing he means building his tank. There's a bit of science around doing long slow (relative) runs to build fitness and endurance and young pup's tank clearly isnt there yet.

Sounds a little like you want him to debut. I never would’ve known.

I told JA26 that he’s grown significantly taller since the last time we spoke (about three weeks ago). He said he actually has noticed it himself and that he’s gonna measure himself and get back to me (bless him 🥹). But as I walked away I thought maybe it was HP35 I’d been speaking to three weeks ago 😅

His ankle looked 3 times its normal size on Friday.

Maybe, just maybe, the big guy can take an early mark and rest before the whole limb falls off.

Can someone be on hospital watch...we need updates of when our stars go in for the surgery they so badly need.

There's probably room in Tom Morris's dumpster, if it's one of this double lid types

Gee it must be tough to turn up to training and face the media for the players

We've gone from top 4 in round 8 to season over in round 20. A horrible few months

Put time into the youngsters, get the hunger ramped up for next season

I'd send him on holidays now. Big preseason.

I was told by a reliable source that the club would love to play Jeffo for the last few games but they have serious concerns. These are that they feel his arms are not big enough for the average demonland supporter.

That's life (that's life)
That's what all the other supporters say
Dees were riding high in April, shot down in May, June & July
But we know we gonna change their tune
When we’re back on top, back on top in …

(ummmm I’m stuck to complete lyrics 🤣🤣🤣)

Thanks as always WCW!  ❤️💙
From your vids, the intensity seemed very ‘low key’ ……… reminiscent of a captain’s run, but with very little enthusiasm or chatter.  Was the (seeming) lack of intensity typical of the whole session (?), or was it just a symptom of the bits you picked up on film?

Jesus how did Cale Morton get a game then......

It’s fair to assume that even the most positive player would understand that the deck is stacked against them playing finals.

Given the whole preseason theme was about redemption and playing finals, that would be a difficult pill to swallow.

The mood probably reflects that to a degree.

Thanks WCW and all posters greatly appreciated especially the video’s. It’s going to be very interesting watching the boys on Saturday night at the G, hope they are a bit more animated.😁😁

The entire session was pretty chill. Not despondency or despair or anything like that, just not as fast-paced and energetic as usual. Very relaxed, like a team who knows they’re not playing finals. But also like a team who knows it’s not the end of the world and that there’s a ton of hope for next season. That’s the vibe I got and it was confirmed by a couple of chats I had with some of the boys (individually). I’ve said it before but the kids are so honest. They’ve yet to learn to only tell a fan what they wanna hear and to keep it brief. 😅

Let’s hope they stay that way WCW.😁

Coaches gave him instructions and drills to learn to run 20m without tackling someone as it gets awkward in the office.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
