Adem yze is the one that got away. He should be our head coach and we let him walk out the door

Yze was there in 22 and 23 during our straight set losses and where we bombed it long constantly.

He seems a good coach but his worth seems overstated on here

I think it was both, What changes did Goodwin do in the last?

Fritsch to the back line to be the spare instead of Petty. Set the mids up at a bounce to ensure the ball never moved out fast? Did he make sure Kozzie could get on the field, for the critical last 10 mins instead of allowing the change.

But the players also missed shots and reverted back to the old game plan which we got away from in the first 3/4.

Our senior players lost the game. They thought the game was done

They don't work hard enough.

Big heads

Will the Board blame Goody for Tracc and Clarry issues?

They may not get back to their best until 2026?

Who is to blame for the Brayshaw early retirement? Gun half back and mid.

Will the Board blame Goody for the loss of Luke Jackson? He is that big ruck forward we need.

Freo shown interest in Gus leading up to his last contract. We should have offloaded him. He already had concussion issues at that point. I don't understand why AFL clubs aren't as cut throat as other sports. Now we are stuck paying for a player who isn't at the club. Clubs have to be smart. Same as when Viney tried to hold out for more coin, and threaten to leave to North. We should've said 'thanks for your service and good luck'. Instead we moved Grundy and ANB for a packet of chips, and both would run rings around our current lot. Grundy is a near AA. Tim Lamb is as bad as it gets, and sadly, we have him.

They didn’t really replace Yze did they and gee, it shows.

We were still having a lot of the same issues with Yze there to be honest.

The FD and executive understand that Gawn is not the captain we are looking for in terms of where we are looking to take the young players and for ruthlessness of standards required to achieve that but if he were removed, it would be the third such captain removed from his role in Goodwins reign.

I can’t remember another coach who has had to move on three captains in 8 years and it’s not via natural attrition.

Wow.

Thanks for sharing.

We are in deep doo doo.

I have done my homework.

You made it up like you always do.

He didn't get relgated champion. It was part of his personal choice as part of what I had already mentioned. He was back in the box at the start of the year and initially part of that plan for 2025 was to alternate in between but that fwll on its sword due to the early season losses.

Its okay to L and move on.

I think McQualter was meant to be his replacement but that was obviously short luved.

Even in his role as our midfield stoppage coach last year, he didn't exactly set the world on fire i. That area. Our mids fell apart last year.

@rpfc I'm pretty sure it was you who questioned this a year or two ago?

It's always tough to know the full extent of an assistant coaches influence. They are restricted by the system they work within. I do remember when Yze got the job at Richmond Brendan Gale quoted him. Something along the lines of "if you live in the past youl die in the present." That was something that felt pretty resonant with where we were at at the end of 2023.

I like what I can see he's doing with Richmond though. I think he'll turn out to be an excellent coach.

Interesting, tonight was a schedule meeting for the footy department to present to the board.

Won't be awkward at all. I'm sure there questions have doubled.

Tom morris no doubt will be there sniffing around

But how many players would be moved on under a Goodwin lead team...
I dont think many.

This is the thing.. dont think for one minute all this Lovey Dovey stuff will wash when he realises that its the players X,Y,Z or him FACING the axe! He is so delusional he probably still thinks he has the answers CAAAARYYYSST!

Agree. I think the whoosh sounds for each dot point.

And there will be many, many, many, many, many dot points.

For all the learnings, of course.

BS ... you are the one making stuff up. As per usual

Forget 2025, that was not the year I was talking about.

In 2021 Goodwin was relegated to the bench and more power was given to Yze upstairs as a consequence. The rest of it was spin so as to not embarrass Goodwin further

Don't forget that he was close to being sacked back then? How is your memory?

And I am right

You can prove otherwise so like your little sidekick, stop wasting everyone's time

Out of curiosity, could you provide where the review mentioned he had to coach from the bench?

It's an odd recommendation.

Hey @KozzyCan here's the 2020 review findings. Can you find me the part where its states that Goodwin would be relegated to the bench as per what Macca says here?

https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/833378/club-update-a-letter-from-gary-pert

2 of our starting 4 out of the middle have been avoiding contact all season

What sort of an example does that set for the rest of the team and the youngsters?

What does happen is that sort of stuff can spread through the team in no time. And the opposition know full well too

Teams come at us and we jump out of the way. Our senior players should have taken it upon themselves to secure the win yesterday

But they went missing

Stop blaming the coach for the players faults. They're well paid and can think and act for themselves

Of course it wasn't mentioned

Are you aware of how spin works in sport? Goodwin went close to being sacked in late Sept 2020 so they made changes to his role instead

Brendan McCartney was 'relegated' to the bench in 2018, perhaps you're confusing the two?

Talk about deflection from the FD.

Of all of our problems, AA Captain Gawn is the least of them. Between him and Viney, they drive standards at training and on/off the field.

The coaches and FD need to be held accountable

Yes but it's a shame Viney turns the ball over so much

Also there were a lot of joggers in the last quarter pm

He doesn't need too. I've done it for him

No need to lie and make up things and now you look like a [censored] fool because you have been caught out doing so. You said it was done after the 2020 review and I provided evidence that clearly shows that it was never mentioned nor did it happened. So yes, you made it up.

Im all for the criticism of Goodwin, but to lie and make things up to suit your narrative is pretty poor. I mean, im not surprised.

Take a walk and have a breather mate.

I tell no lies

The reason it was not included in the review is quite obvious so you and others need to learn how to read between the lines

He was very nearly sacked back then and why would he voluntarily put himself on the bench whilst leaving all the game-day moves to Yze

You are the one who needs to stop telling lies about me

Stick to gossip, that's what you are good at. How many gossip threads have you started here? 200?

Wake up
