The Xerri v Nankervis ruck battle was decent.  Nank definitely the Tigers best and Xerri continued his good form.  Xerri took the chocolates in AFL fantasy but Nank won supercoach.  Was a good old fashioned 80's style ruck battle. Some of Nank's touch in the last quarter was exceptional.  Xerri is the heir apparent to Max.  He can take a decent grab.

Fun fact: Rory Laird’s parents sat with us in the cheer squad last night (really lovely couple). His mum is and always has been a passionate Demons diehard. Right now they’re at Mordor watching their son play in what’ll likely be a loss. Not a good footy weekend for the Lairds. 😢

Stengle has started well

Another big night coming up for him??

He runs the lines well.

Thilthorpe is a beast. Causing real problems for the Cats.

I’d give 3 first rounders for Thiltorpe

Going to dominate the comp

Players getting penalised for attacking the ball by being deemed holding the ball, can’t stand it. Hate AFL HQ for what they have done this year.

that HTB against Fogarty was ridiculous. what was he supposed to do?

He has improved out of sight. Going to be a star.

Media say anything about him playing, without any punishment at all, for at the least, being out at 3.00 am at a nightclub last week, drinking and maybe doing more and ending up unresponsive, taken by ambulance to hospital?

Can imagine the coverage if it was a lesser club. Absolute silence from a totally beholden media.

All this adulation for Pendles makes me feel crook.

Hoping the Blues' can ruin his party ... on my way to the MCG 🙏😁

Blues could end the round in 8th with a loss. They were second a couple of weeks ago, crazy.

I really wish the AFL would make Carlton wear some poxy alternative jumper against Collingwood.

preference is a pies win. They're unlikely to play finals and a loss will keep carlton out of the top 4

Aside from beating North this will be 5 losses for Sydney on the trot

fkking joke

just a hiccup for the good Geelong boy

Cats will regret their weak and unsupportive approach to Tyson’s situation. they care about winning, that’s all

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne

After four weeks on the road the Demons make their long awaited return to the MCG next Sunday to play in a classic late season dead rubber against the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
