I wish someone had a record of his predictions' success rate. That might wipe that smirk of his face. The smirk I think, reflects his awareness that he gets away with a lot of rubbish in his job.

Yep, and it does stink as well

How about we keep Oliver and go for Sam De Koning!

SDK to join his brother TDK at Carlton for season 2026 is my bet.

How on earth do Geelong offer anything that the MFC don't laugh at? Clarry clearly wouldn't fetch the sort of return he would have in 2021, but he's still worth well and truely more than 1 first round pick i would have thought.

I'd wanna see Sam Dekonning and a draft pick or i would just back him in to get back to his best after a full pre-season.

If he goes to the cats for a future first...I think Im gonna stop following footy altogther. [censored] what an utterly depressing year this has been

As long as we don't pay a cent of his contract and Geelong meet our trade value then its a deal.

This may require Oliver to agree to a new lower value contract with Geelong that makes them comfortable in meeting our trade value be that picks or players.

If Geelong are just tyre kickers then no deal.

If Oliver is not willing to sacrifice dollars if required after 2 years of dramatically underperforming his contract then no deal.

Over to you Connor Sports, Oliver and Geelong.

Then we move on.

The only thing worse than watching Clarry win more AAs and B&Fs (let alone flags) at another club will be if we’re paying part of his wage to do so.

Well it’s more what he’s worth to us a late first round is fairly useless to us so unless we simply what him out which I think is a weak move by the club if so and will be one we regret.

Have received a few texts from non-MFC mates in the last half hour.

Bit unnerving.

Oliver has no price. He is priceless.

Let the man have a pre season, and without broken bones in his hands... and he simply wins our BnF and is the centre in the All-Aus team.

There is no price. And to even entertain it is just... nauseating.

If it happens, in whatever form, I'm simply done.

If true it’s a kick in the guts to the club who has supported him during his mental health issues .. if true players  have too much power, if true I question his character as his biting the  hand that’s fed him & supported him.. if true in hindsight club should have made him  play at Casey this year until he earned  the right to play senior footy .. if true I’m disgusted by him

I still don't think the Cats have anything to give us, aside from TWO established players (and that requires said players to actually want to leave - because let's face it, the Cats are playing, at worst, a prelim next year), so I am not sure how this gets done, even if Clarry wants it to get done. For whatever reason.

However, I will say this - IF this gets done - which could only be for a packet of chips - I think I might be done with footy for a while. The last couple of years have been exhausting. We went from being on the cusp of a dynasty to rabble in just 3 short years. Partly a media beat-up, sure, but also partly our own doing. The constant culture scrutiny, Goody beat-ups, our poor comms, the Petracca drama (which has not truly gone away) has me tired. I want to love following my club, but this shizen has me sighing every time I open my browser. You'd have to argue there is even greater impetus for a review, and I would expect to see more of an outcome. Who exactly is going to play for us next year? No Clarry, and ??? with Petracca (in general, but also what kind of player he'll actually be with his injuries) does not bode well for us. That's a bottom 4 finish, easy. (Very small) window closed. Max, May and Jack play out contracts for a rebuild. We were not far off a bottom 4 finish this year, and we had Petracca for half a year! And admittedly an underdone (but still good/v good at times Clarry). What a debacle.

Why can't we just be a stable team? Why don't the cats deal with this stuff?

Anyway, it's all a big IF for now, but as a 20+ year member I am not happy.

Considering what went on 12 months ago, Player 13 should have played 8-10 games at Casey, to earn his spot back. I was very disappointed this didn’t happen

What happened to him travelling up to QLD with Max for a pre season camp? “Wants to repay the club”… etc

I’m starting to wonder if we maybe do need to blow it up.. Will the me, me, me personalities of Oliver and Petracca ever see us move out of the constant media circus.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
