CASEY: Rd 17 vs Frankston

Always a dodgy strategy when you donโ€™t score with the wind.

Kicking as far as you can is also a bit over rated.

Actually think that the umpires are better at this game than those from last night.ย

Not surprised Woey out it must have been a bad cork. Ben Brown was a late withdrawal and they didn't have an extra to replace him, so they are playing one short. Clearly they didn't see that one coming as they didn't have time to bring an extra in. Wonder were Yze was

Double triple take.

Shizen game. Casey donโ€™t seem to have any structure. Sestan is very underwhelming- poor skills and doesnโ€™t like to chase

Iโ€™m guessing that the spelling is the same, but is the Mynott playing for Frankston, any relation to the former St Kilda great?

There was a guy called Paul Mynott at my high school, who lived in Rowville and supported St Kilda. Just googled him and Trent is his son. His dad was a successful coach for Rowville apparently.ย

I've just seen snippets but it looks like Roy George is an exceptional talent. To those who have been watching the whole game: is that right?

Wow, some super dumb football by Casey three plays in a row. So frustrating considering how hard the backline are working to get the ball up the field.ย

I'm stating the bleeding obvious here, but Casey is not a very good team including most of AFL listings.

Whats happened to Brown again? He was good for Casey last week.ย

Failed a fitness test prior to the game apparently. Broadcast also said we are playing with 22 instead of 23 so must have been late and no emergencies on hand.

defo not his day today

He needs PF to have a chat to him seeing he is next in line for a senior call up!!!

The Dolphins have dominated the second quarter with 7 goals to a single goal from Jack Bell. Will Verrall is winning the ruck hit outs (he has 20) but to no avail. The forward line has been completely shut down in the wet conditions. Kynan Brown is the lead on baller for the Demons and has been a tackling machine as well as leading the teamโ€™s disposal count.

Disposals K Brown 13 Steele 11 Edwards Howes 10 Bell Hore White 9

I see what you mean Nascent there were 4 Casey players named as emergencies, must have been a communication break down.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven Kingโ€™s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
