I'd get Bolton.

i'd go the other way

not just because his contract length and price would be less, but i think we'd have to pay less for him

would happily have either

We broke the record for number of Zs on one banner, and his real name doesn’t even have one. 🤣

And Collingwood can't even spell Isaac.

I like the Bolton idea because he's two years younger and fills that void we have of players in that age bracket, but he's also more damaging and consistent.

But I can see what you mean by Ryan, and fair enough.

So, our ‘word guy’ gives us each a word to place on the banner. My word was “Kysaiah” and if you think I checked and double-checked and triple-checked the spelling you’d be spot on.

PS I even quadruple-checked. 😁

Bolton is not in our price range. He is already on a large, long-term contract and the WA clubs are all over him. It is fanciful.

You don't think we have the cap space? I reckon we do, it's just whether we think it's better spent on another area of the ground or ultimately a better player.

We have been contending for the last four years and so we have almost certainly been backloading contracts.

Petracca, Oliver and Kossie are now all on mega long-term deals.

You can always fit players in by extending and backloading contracts, but eventually you have to pay the piper (unless you are the Pies or Cats who have the advantage of being destination clubs and pay only 75 cents on the dollar).

Other clubs (Hawthorn, Crows, Saints, Roos etc) have been front loading contracts in recent years and have war chests to spend.

The way for us to reload is with cheap veterans and via the draft.

Well I have given up hope he would finally grab one. !!! Yes it was good but he is far better at ground level in our team.

Wasn't that a typo.

I'm sure you meant Messiah.

We were all so disappointed on Saturday night we ended up missing the game due to illness me included and ended up watching in three separate homes to limit cross infection. We all watched the game and we’re texting each other all night so many memorable moments. Kozzie really turned it on for his 100th, his reflexes are sublime, quicker than the eye can detect, watching that ball to zmilkshake, Jake to Windsor, goal and then turning two bombers inside out and beautiful pass out the back, wow. Memorable game Kozzie.

The evolution of Kozzie.

I was rewatching the game, don't judge I live in a shipping container in Somalia. Anyway I noticed this kozzie tackle where he body checked the guy fiercely in the 2nd qtr but released him almost straight away. I thought this was a win for the player and the coaches. A year ago Kozzie would have driven him into the ground. Love that he has learnt to control the aggression.

luke parker, come down

He would be very good for 1-2 years, after that not so. But are there others ? but at his best, top of the tree.

A shipping container in Somalia? So good to hear the varied locations of where folks are tuning in from! Are there many dees out that way?

I didn’t see this at the time (one misses a lot of the live action when one chooses to sit in the Bay of carnage aka M3) but Mrs Frittata said, “Sch!tt are you allowed to do that?!” I said, “Do what?” She said “Pick someone up by the waist then drop ‘em like they’re hot.” I thought she was imagining things ‘til I watched the replay, so I texted her, “To answer your question… Yes, apparently you can!” 😂😂😂

On a serious note, watching Kozzie is mesmerising but also sometimes uncomfortable because you just know that if he’s reported, he ain’t getting off.

I hope you and your fam are feeling better now, DZ. You missed a cracker of a game but I’m sure you enjoyed watching the awesome win on TV. 💖

Occasionally watch a game with a charming bloke on here as Nairobi Demon in Kenya when passing through. Somalia it's all round ball for the locals and rugby.

Jeez, great banner.

Last comment on that tackle, reminded me of George Gregan in the Rugby Test against NZ. Not that I would even want to lose him to the sport but Kozzie would be an amazing back rower for Australia. He has a step as good as the great Campese.

Hi all!

In celebration of Kozzy bringing up the ton over the weekend, I thought I'd share a lil' compilation I cooked up featuring 36 of our #36's greatest goals!

Enjoy!

Thanks - great highlights

As others have indicated, he has matured enormously this season.

Controlling his aggression, choosing better when to have a ping and when to give it off.

And can be trusted to cause massive headaches when he goes into the midfield.

He has rounded his game out very nicely.

It's a great time to support the dees.

Great edit TMD! I bet there were 116 other goals that were unlucky to not make the cut.

Kozzy is as exciting as anyone we've brought into the club over the last decade. I think the best is yet to come as well.

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
