Thanks for all the reports, and I am salivating at the thought of the sausage sizzle.ย
Regarding Melksham - just speculating that IF he were ready for this weekend ( which he almost certainly isnโ€™t) who would he replace from the current line up? Fritta? Or maybe sub? ย
Missed the deadline for the podcast questions so I posted this here.ย

I was very impressed with the calibre of the young men who obliged my grandsonโ€™s requests for autographs and photos. Caleb Windsor was absolutely gobsmacked that my grandson had his number on the back of his jumper

i was also impressed with the bbq sausage team. Btw was it WCW who was accepting the payments for the aforementioned delicacies?

Melksham was training unhindered so Iโ€™d expect heโ€™d be playing for Casey this weekend.

โ€˜Twas me, Joeboy. Iโ€™m not allowed to work on or even near the BBQ. Apparently Iโ€™m a danger to myself and others. ๐Ÿ™„ย

Our young guys are indeed very polite and obliging, each and every one of them.

For the record Iโ€™m the hungry customer who left the extra change TWICE.

Nice to meet you

Although not a good day to be on BBQ duty!ย  Woolies run needed!ย  :-)

How did you know we ran out of snags? We did have to do a Coles run, and then again ran out. We werenโ€™t expecting such an incredible turnout. Heaps of kids were there, which is great.ย

Oh, that was you! We donโ€™t often get told to keep the change, and never twice from the same person.

My 3-word analysis of Joeboy:

Delightful generous man

I can confirm it is, as I try to work from home with 2 crazies asking me "what are we doing today??"

I'm guess approximately 1000 other people found themselves up against the same predicament and thought 'I'll get WalkingCivilWar to shove food into these faces for a couple of hours of quiet at least."

Thank you Flowergirl! Youโ€™re the third person (at least) who I served without knowing they were Demonlanders. Iโ€™m starting to worry that folks are scared to tell me who they are. I mean, I donโ€™t bite. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Form your observations is Petty any chance of getting up this weekend?

As maligned as he's been this year, he's turned a bit of a corner the last 2 weeks.

It may have been an optical illusion but up close Petty actually looks slim whilst on tv or from the grandstands he looksโ€ฆ overweightish

Don't forget, the camera adds 10 pounds and the afl have like 30 cameras.

Yes, I would agree that there was about 2000 fans. It was great to see on a cold day.ย

That is amazing given recent losses. I can remember when we used to get 500 and we thought that was good. It bodes well that the kids haven't given up on us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a really great day, just a shame that some parents didn't listen to Robbo's calls for children to remain off the ground. The children storming the players while they were signing and preventing them from getting to those children waiting patiently was pretty poor. Please be respectful of others.ย

I saw this going on and was disappointed in parents for allowing it to happen. Also, โ€œSecurityโ€ were close to useless. ๐Ÿ™„ The quiet, patient children missed out, yet again. I also felt for the players, some of the young boys looked overwhelmed.

I see the players leave training after regular sessions at Goschโ€™s, and watching them leave yesterdayโ€™s session was weird. Iโ€™ve never seen a group of young men so keen to escape. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yesterday a man came to our tent, snatched a sausage in bread and ran off without paying. No biggie, but if that person happens to be someone on here, please know that you couldโ€™ve pulled me aside and explained you had no $ and I wouldโ€™ve paid for it. Iโ€™ve done this before with the odd kid who doesnโ€™t have $ and itโ€™s better than nicking one, especially in front of the teenagers we had working with us.

Cut to the next DA BBQ and thereโ€™s WCW weighted down with hundreds of coins to pay for the snags people claim they canโ€™t afford ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
