Port Adelaide supporters legitimately want to lose today just so they’re one step closer to sacking Ken.

Sounds like some supporters of another team, a team we all know and love.

Just sayin’

Just watching the last quarter of cats and pretenders.
Luke Darcy coming up with some golden special comments. Or should that be, Goldfish comments?

Q4 12:43

“Cats trailed by five points at half time. They now have a 53 point lead.”
Score is 90-57

LOL 😂 But sometimes it’s what he doesn’t say that impresses me…

Was walking down the race with him before our North game and chatting about how good his son is. I told him Melbourne fans were particularly happy with what he did vs Collingwood. He knew exactly what I meant but said, “Oh, you like how he plays, huh.” I said, “Understandably you can’t say anything, but I certainly can. Sam did us a solid, the only criticism is that Maynard was able to get up and continue playing’” Luke smiled and nodded knowingly. Then he said, “He’s a great kid,” and it was my turn to smile and nod knowingly. 😁

Aside from GWS, this weekend has been a genuinely awful weekend in terms of results not going our way.

Hopefully St Kilda eek out a win here and West Coast handle Hawthorn.

Watched parts of Suns v Pies & Cats v Bombers. Again once the Pies force a turn over they are off, and rather than just bomb it down the line their players sprint to find space and a series of low quick kicks finds them hitting up a fwd, Hill more often than not who has sprinted towards goal via the corridor. Geelong seemed to from what I saw leave Stengle or another (not sure who it was) deep fwd at times so when they turn the ball over they have a fwd leading up at the ball. I think we could also use tactics like these.

We just needed them to at least draw with Port. 🙄

Some thought being a Dees supporter makes you suffer heartbreak.

OMG. Just turned on the last few minutes because it was close - the Saints’ disposal and forward craft is even worse than ours.

Remember all those on here that wanted us to sack Goodwin and bring in Ross? lol

He is paying off his mortgages and couldn’t give AF

Book your September holiday as can’t see us making finals

Why? Because we are four points away from sitting fifth on the ladder?

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
