Everyone on here dusting off the gallows without considering for even a nanosecond that there might be reasons for Pup’s omission, reasons about which we know nothing.

Does anyone really believe that the Club told him he’s not good enough etc.? Seriously??????! People can hate Goody all they like but please pick valid reasons for today's bash-fest coz I don’t think this is one of them.

Sorry - misread your post. Carry on the great work WCW.

Tanking and rebuild mode here.

This coaching and selection panel is garbage and wasted a premier window the last few years. I'll always be thankful we won won, but it should've been more.

The kids are getting treated so poorly at selection. How can any of these young guys begin to build confidence without any kind of faith from the coaching staff and a decent run at it. Pathetic.

Please tell us all what it’s like when you see and hear the coaches talking to the young guys about selection/non-selection 🙏 Coz you were there, right? You must’ve been there otherwise how would you know how they’re treated?

Most intriguing aspect for me is how May, Lever, McDonald, Turner, Petty, Van Rooyen and Tomlinson all play in the same side.

He is in Brisbane with the squad.

Maybe if he's not required as a late inclusion they'll send him home on the first available flight tomorrow night ready for Casey action on Saturday arvo.

And why might we know nothing? With no explanation from Goodwin when he had the perfect opportunity to explain or at least hint, of course people are going to upset or bewildered.

Why not? He hasn't played for 3 weeks. Goody might not want him the 22 against a big bodied Brisbane side and thought that a full game at Casey would serve him better than playing as sub. What's so far-fetched about that?

Sorry TK but I’m actually fully agreeing with you. I just reread what I posted and it does sound like I’m disagreeing with you. Again, so sorry. I’m just so angry with all the posters on here who act as though they’re privy to everything that goes on at selection.

Our coach clearly deemed that Kynan didn’t have enough impact in his 3 minutes of game time (despite getting 3 less fantasy points than Fritsch’s in his 120 minutes)

He doesn’t have to explain sch!tt to fans. Since when is that expected?

Hope so, hate to see the kids miss valuable development game time.

Terrible VFL fixture does not help.

What are the "learnings" for poor Kynan. Is it just fugazi?

Perhaps it's a predetermined plan to roll some of the young guys through the sub position?

Non issue imo

Not saying Goodwin owes us anything. I’m remarking on how the reactions are natural for people who don’t have the reasoning.

WCW thats a hypocritical comment because you seem to be blindly supporting Goody despite the fact that he bears responsibility for the team's failings.

By any measure it is an appalling selection decision especially given that he has stuck to players who have consistently failed week after week.

Supporters criticisms on Demonland are totally warranted & very similar to those made by media commentators.

I think you lack objectivity.

Overheard at training this week, but not previously reported:

Max Gawn:  "Can Demonland posters get any more rabid and over the top critical, Goody?"

Simon Goodwin:  (chuckles)  "Wait until you see what I've done with Pup, Maxy!  They'll really lose their minds".

On a serious note Goodwin couldn’t have been any less effusive of Brown’s prospects of getting a game this week when asked in his mid week presser so it’s not a surprise in the slightest he was dropped.

yr a long time retired after all...

anyway, unfortunately i agree with @middleagedemon - i think we're on a hiding to nothing this week; the line of 29.5 looks pretty generous...to them

mind you, i tipped north last week, so what would i know...other than that my mfcss is STRONG

Understand a strong mfcss it’s a bit like long covid, just does not go away .

i think the line should be 48.5.
2 goals a quarter,  we can play better than that but so can they,

Their ground, they are playing well, we are not, they have enough very good players plus Ashcroft back.  I can’t wait !

I don’t specifically support Goody, I support our coach.

I don’t support the selection of players who aren’t performing well, but I choose not to discuss that, that’s my prerogative.

In this particular instance, I’m trusting that the decisions made regarding the selection of the young guys that are made based on information about which none of us know, are the right decisions.

This is why it angers me that people are quick to judge Goody and the selectors when they have no idea why decisions are made.

Thanks for the feedback though.

You think he should divulge selection information to the general public days out from a match? Unwise, for mine.

I don’t care that he was ambiguous when discussing Pup. I care that the Club and in particular the Club psychologist went the right way about letting Pup know what’s happening and why it’s happening. That’s infinitely more important than what he gives at a presser.

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
