Really? Wow! Where did you hear that?

PS guesse what - we won that game. We beat Adelaide who were 6-1 (and went on to finish top and be favourites in the GF), whilst we were 3-4.

Nathan Brown stated this when he was doing his Sportsbet ad. during tonight’s 360.

Sorry LFS, I don’t know which gate you enter for the captain’s run. I can find out tomorrow morning though, then I’ll post on here

Enjoy drinks at the German Club! There are some DA members who’ll be there but the majority will be at the Pineapple Hotel.

Thanks, worse case we just keep walking till one is open!

Pineapple will be Friday night!

Maybe it's a sign that we've been a pretty good football team for a while? 🤪

You BET we are! See what I did there? 😎 More than seven years of odds under $5 says we’re a bloody good football team. ❤️💙

No need to circumnavigate the ‘Gabba, Leftie.

Entry is through Gate 2.

Gate 2 opens at 3pm

Short session 3:30 - 4:15pm

I’ll see you at the Pineapple! I’ll be the one in red and blue (cheer squad joke, we find it funny even if no one else does). 😜

Well I hope we do the same with Melks.

it will be interesting to see how we handle his return

He trains fully. Has been for a while now. I’ll be shocked and disappointed if they make him come back through Casey.

Sparrow to Neale. Neale earns his possessions at stoppages and in and under.  Need a bigger body.

ANB to the Luggage. We need a runner who can keep up and close down his easy kicks.

Can't let these guys get 30 each.  They generate too much momentum

AnB has to go to Zorko. Brisbane were struggling badly when Coleman went down and it was only when Zorko went to half back that they’ve got their game back. If we can shut him down, then that will go a long way to winning the game.

Dees the line at 30.5 is very good value.

With Lever back and our game plan having a significant shift back to our old style it won’t be a blowout. 50% of the possessions on Saturday night were contested compared to a 37% season average. We only took 72 marks (well below our average) and we kicked long out of defence instead of trying to switch with short kicks. I can’t see Brisbane putting on a massive score. We’ll squeeze them wide and I expect Lever and May to have a lot of intercept marks.

Melksham isn't part of the future. If we're not playing finals, he shouldn't be playing at AFL level again (other than a farewell game if he wants one).

Brisbane's last three scores for.

152 points against Port. 126 points against St Kilda. 114 against the Dogs

We managed 70 against North Melbourne. I'll repeat. 70. With no goals in the last quarter. The team in the bottom of the ladder.

Offensively, we are no match and the Midfield comparison is terrifying.

Brisbane put on 55 points from scores from stoppage for the first three quarters against Port. They won clearance by 15 and won the inside 50's 71-46. All of this at Port Adelaide.

Brisbane's DNA hasn't changed, they're a stoppage, clearance and contested machine of a midfield with one of the most potent, dangerous and dynamic forward-lines in the AFL which is humming atm.

Our numbers?

We are -4 in contested ball against sides this year.

We are the 4th worst clearance side in the comp.

We're the 3rd worst team in the comp in scoring on turnover.

It's mind-boggling that some think we're in with a chance against this side on current form. If we get within 35 points, I'll be astonished.

But this could be an easy 50+ loss and that is the more likely scenario.

This game will represent the 1st time I have tipped against the Dees in 3 years.

He told you this? Coz if he did, he lied to one of us, and I’m quite sure it wasn’t me.

”… a farewell game if he wants one.” Could you possibly be more patronising???

Wouldn't bother responding to him/her.... probably the most negative poster on here, which is saying something given the stuff you see!

Thanks and you’re right. I’m trying hard but still haven’t learned to not bite. Dude played the bag Melks card and I took the bait. My bad 😭

So you are 100% sure he will not be on our list next year.
I just think he might be.  Had a year of complete non contact,  his body will go at least one more full year.

and our Forward line is much better with him there, playing well of course,

hard game against Brisbane !

FWIW Melskham should be a lock in the side after 1-2 games in the VFL provided he has adequate AFL standard fitness. I don't care if he's 35 or whatever, the club still needs to put out a competitive product week to week, and Melk will surely assist here.

Our forward line is crying out for natural forwards. With all due respect to Petty and Turner, they are not natural forwards while our most natural forward is way off the boil atm. Hence we're battling to kick 70 points against the Norths and West Coasts of the league.

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
