I'll be interested to see if Sydney have one last crack with their experienced core group, or if they take a step back and try to get some more games into their fringe players.

If the former, you wonder whether the likes of Roberts, Sheldrick, Cleary or Campbell might look elsewhere for more significant opportunities.

Not sure if any of these might suit us at the right price - Campbell certainly hasn't come on from his first year, but has some ability.

They also have a number of more recent draftees who are yet to get a go.

Very surprised that Harvey Reid re-signed with West Coast until end of 2028.

Just cannot see the Eagles doing anything in the next two years at least.

Would love to know his reasons

Sorry, I can’t get this to let me type below the quote. Annoying

Reports had predicted Reid would sign a two-year deal with a trigger that would extend for an additional nine years. The club did not confirm if that was the case with this new deal.

“The old two-year plus a nine-year extension to get to $24 million, I don’t think that’s going to happen now. That is going to be reworked, it’s going to be a much shorter deal,” 7NEWS Perth reporter Ryan Daniels said last week.

Wonder if we could entice Hunty out of retirement with some Nippys milks?

It’s Nippys not Nippy, silly autocorrect

Norf gave up pick 25 for Calab Daniel. Absolutely diabolical. Total coach killer. May on one leg and half rat power is better than any of the three experience blokes Norf bought in in 2024.

I don’t really like WC but I’m happy that Reid is staying. I hate the fact that players leave within 2-3 yrs of being drafted. I think it’s incumbent on a player to give the club that drafted them 5 years.

What sort of compo are Carlton looking at for TDK and SOS?

Dreams !!!

We will have two new recruits next year anyway i.e. Trac & Clarrie

Definitely!!

Trac suffered life threatening injury last year and is just working his way back to his best.

Star Must Stay!!

Ditto Clarrie, not life threatening but his hands are important as an inside mid and he was playing with one hand much of last year. Just returning to his best with confidence now.

Star Must Stay!!

Has been discussed on other forums before, however Max Gruzewski would be a great get. Can't get a game for the giants ahead of my beloved Jesse, Cadman, Riccardi and Brown. Has kicked 43 goals in 15 VFL Games this year. Is worth mentioning we took Jefferson over Max in the 2022 draft. Definitely worth having a crack in my eyes, maybe a pick in the 30-50 range with a late pick coming back. Can be a swingman option as well.

I like him, but Giants just don’t let contracted players go. If they didn’t let Derksen leave last year with one year remaining on his deal, I doubt they let Gruzewski this year

tdk - first round compo, so pick 7 or so?

sosos - probably nothing?

Forgot SOS was an unrestricted free agent, still find it a little unfair clubs get nothing for this

Most clubs would have. Duursma was rated incredibly high.

he's been playing consistently since hogan damaged his foot, again

has kicked 8 goals 5 behinds in the last 4 games

i can't see them letting him go, given that he's under contract, and hogan's injury issues are a short- and potentially long-term concern

We desperately need more small forwards who can apply pressure while also hitting the scoreboard, so I’m a big yes for going after Rosas

I know we dont have a coach which doesnt help at all but [censored] me it annoys how ruthless St Kilda are whilst we work out who is actually going to coach us.

Flanders would be perfect for us.

We've got some preliminary interest in Zane Duursma, could give some legs to the mooted Norf interest in Lever.

Not the best user either imo

I still rate this kid very highly. Has goal sense and high upside. Under the right development team, and if gotten on the cheaper end of the scale in terms of players and picks going out, I would be thrilled with that.

Yeah I agree, although I will say that I'm agnostic as to whether we would be able to develop and get the best out of him (on historical grounds). Personally would see him as a big upgrade on Kolt (on potential).

We've been tracking him for a lot of this year, it sounds like the interest since has draft year has been enduring. Personally not too sure how we'd get it done, especially if Lever isn't going anywhere.

what's his value tho?

someone like a toumpas, for instance, went from being a pick 4 to effectively traded for pick 88, which was then on-traded to the pear for rodan
