We have definitely lost that hunger and mongrel we had in 21.

This uninterested mob will struggle to even make finals this year.

Surely coaches will be under the pump if the season continues like this?

Hard to comprehend we extended Goodwin before the finals last year.

We have to arrest something in the second half. Diabolical atm but a percentage smashing makes it two losses. Taking a 5 goal defeat and come out fired up next week.  I think I'm clutching at straws.

Coaches can only work with what they have. Look at Clarkson at North.

It's the players and the list.

Who do you think is responsible for generating and developing that list?

I can only imagine what’s being said — but to me it’s looking as simple as perceived pressure and general poor disposal and decisions that are killing us. I50 tackles were up 8-3, but we just have lost all ability to make the right decision — game-plan adaptation or implementation issues, or just poor run of disposals/decisions? Makes d50 looks really poor but I’m not convinced it is, whilst it’s not great it’s more about where we are turning it over and our inability to get chains together. Intercepting non-existent at present, but Freo look like a COMPLETELY diff side, very strange I’m not throwing baby out with bath water despite being obviously shattered at what I’m seeing..

Becomes all about confidence for next week now I guess — let’s hope for some spirit at least.

I think I might petition to have no Binman on the pod this week because I just can’t put up with 2 hours of this isn’t our midfield’s fault.

It's like they think he's some sort of tactical genius 😂

Just dribbles on rubbish. Embarrassed himself with the loading stuff the last two years now he's finding his niche as the midfield isn't the problem excuse.

I know I put this in when we're going badly, but we're going to waste this list, aren't we?

I feel like I'll never see a mcg gf.

U think it’s the mids? Today has been contest in general not just the mids imho I mean seeing O‘meara be made to look like Ablett hurts but I’m not sure it’s all mids we’ve just been off our game completely trying to be some sort of cutting kick team which we’re not.. it’s certainly just very strange we’re at sea without a boat let alone a paddle!!!

Coaches have a say on the list and recruiting surely, so we just keep this insipid output until we can no longer justify changes in the FD or coaching staff?

So I did not see 186,  luckily enough. But I am watching this absolute garbage.
to me some are playing with no concern about the result.  We are behind our opposition all the time.    3 or 4 players would not get game time at north with this type of effort and skill.
so that begs the question what is wrong within the club.

imagine 2 first rounders for Mr Petty. We would have stolen them.

Maybe Oliver's lack of pre season is starting to catch up with him.

He's had a shocker.

Maybe he was just last in the room and everyone else had filled the chairs from the back to be as far from the spray as possible?

At least you got to see a premiership. How about all those that passed before 2021 who were long suffering.

If the entire team doesn’t have Covid or explosive diarrhea, then I have no idea what is the possible excuse for this embarrassing performance

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
