I hear you, but if it’s Netflix which most people already have, it means saving $30 a month on Kayo which I’m all for.

Netflix most certainly put the price up. If they spend untold millions/billions to televise they will have to recoop their outlay.

If Netflix had the full coverage of AFL games, I would never need to switch on regular TV again.

I mean, sure, I'll miss out on the ads telling me the latest from Farmer Wants a Root and I won't be able to flick over to watch a 2017 rerun of 8 out of 10 Cats does countdown, but all in all, I think I can just about some gaffa tape over the 'TV' button and never regret it.

Plus, the movie where they put together the commentary team would be awesome.

I watch via the app on my Apple TV.  Rarely an issue. If there is, its a router issue.

Ok.

Boomer Quetion.

When it says "video wont play" through the smart tv is that a router issue.

Asking for some [censored] that doesnt know and I just want to see if you know.

This year I have got Kayo to work reasonably. A wise person told me to update my Google Chrome and now it works without the spin of death. Picture quality is not as good as 7, but that is a small price for no Brian.

I watch all games on Kayo now as the picture is markedly better the 7 HD channels. Same commentators though 🫤

In Brisbane so maybe connection related.

I think when they took their interests to the US and met with Amazon but nothing came of it, that shut the door on anything like this.

i can't see any international streaming service having significant interest in a small domestic competition like the afl or nrl

I live in California and can watch a number of AFL and Rugby games on YouTube.TV, Fubo TV and Fox Sports.

I use the WatchAFL app as it guarantees I get every game, the ones listed above (especially YouTube.TV which I subscribe to) don't always get them

Your router is just the gateway for internet access to your home which it will broadcast as a Wifi Signal for your devices and provide a wired connection to devices/switches through the cable ports on the back.

It will be one or a combination of the following

  • Your TV settings are not configured to connect to your router over Wifi properly
    • Ideally run a cable from the TV direct to the router you will get higher resolution and better quality
  • You do not have an account with the video provider you are trying to access
  • You have an account with the video provider, but the subscription plan prevents it
  • You are being geo-blocked from accessing the video
    • You can get around this with a VPN but shop around as many of them are blocked by streaming providers as they have increased their VPN detection - or they use a third party to do it (Kayo does this through Amazon Web Services)

Never had that message on my Apple TV, MacBook or iPhone sorry.  Therese I get it a poor data rate which pixelates the image.

Last night I watched the Dogs game from Sydney. The picture quality was terrible it looked like they only had half the lights on. I have noticed this problem for some time. The brightness issue is there all the time when watching a night game. When both 7 and Kayo are covering the same game the difference between the game on 7 and Kayo is amazing.

I don't think Netflix goes even close to warranting a price increase.

There normal content is rubbish.

Movies are cheaply made and often poor quality.

Most of their content  are murder documentaries or as the call them docuseries.

Edited by leave it to deever

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
