I know it's hard but I need two people to cast votes on a 6,5,4,3,2,1 basis from Sunday's game v West Coast Eagles. Please note we need 6 Melbourne players and Chris Judd is not eligible.

The Oracle who went to WA and witnessed the game in the flesh will be back this evening and his match report will be posted tomorrow if we can clean up the language in time. He will be the third vote giver for the game.

Thanks

i'd go with:

6 Johnstone - ran all day

5 Sylvia - tried his guts out, made something from nothing

4 Junior - ran all day and tried his guts out

3 green - got the ball...

2 bell - versatile and tried hard

1 godfrey - had the guts to go onto judd, and get a few handballs/clearances himself

jeepers, that's shocking! wouldn't wanna give the bests in a newspaper!

6. Johnstone - Easily our best. Playing good footy and been amongst our best for a few weeks now. One of the few out there who appears to try and care

5. Sylvia - Another good game off limited oppurtunities. The kid might finally be on his way to becoming the player we know he can be

4. Junior - Tried hard

3. Petterd - Starting to struggle now. Decent game from the youngster

2. Green - Really sturggling. Tried to run?

1. Bell - I'm done. His worst game for the year, but still far from our worst player

Its his third game and against that kind of opposition I dont think he struggled, i think he'll learn an aweful lot from that game.

wow, lord travis, you have 666 posts! that's awesome, hopefully it's an omen

He meant that he was struggling to find deserving vote-getters, not that Petterd struggled...

I actually thought Petterd held himself pretty well considering. If I were giving votes it would be:

6. Johnstone

5. Sylvia

4. Green

3. McDonald

2. Petterd

1. Judd

He kicked a classy goal in the third quarter.

As someone just mentioned he was talking about struggling to find people to give votes to.

This is the best I can come up with

6.Brad Miller .Kicked the footy not once but twice in the last quarter.

5. Brad Green.Dropped the footy while running unopposed not once but twice.

4.David Neitz. Kicked tthe footy in both the first and last quarters.

3.Daniel Bell. Pinpoint pass led to immediate goal.

2.Paul Johnson. Managed to avoid colliding with any opposition player for entire game.

1.Ryan Ferguson.Kept formidable injury record intact.

Apart from that not many hilights.

Why are people giving Green votes? Because he got 25 touches? He was not in our best players.

Replace Green with Godfrey and replace Judd with Quentin Lynch, him kicking 6 behinds was our only defensive highlight.

And he ran hard all day and tried to create space. Godfrey didn't deserve votes this week I didn't think, he got belted by Kerr and then Judd. Overall though, I must say that I am largely converted with Godders. He has been super this year.

Does running hard and trying to create space warrant votes these days?

Godfrey was beaten by both Kerr and Judd. But anybody from our side would have been. When Godfrey was getting his hands on the ball we played our best footy for the game.

i gave mine to godders, he was our best in and at it player, evidenced by 14 handballs. but green really did run and rund and run, 'gut running' something i thought our whole team was supposed to be able to do, even the ones that weren't injured

lynch got 7 behinds and an on the full didn't he? even more worthy of a vote you say!

Give the boy 10/10 because it is finally nice to see him give a [censored] out on the field!!!!

I didn't mean he struggled, I meant I was starting to struggle for people to give votes to, just like CarnTheDees said. Petterd was excellent for someone playing their 3rd AFL game. He has been fantastic for someone so young and inexperienced. Excited about his future!

Thats because I'm a real......DEMON...... B) lol my own wit amazes me sometimes. Wait I posted and now don't have 666 posts anymore. Sh*t.....

Travis was great, and has been for weeks now. Nobody can ever accuse him of not giving a [censored]. In 2005 when we were getting flogged, he was the only player out there still running himself into the ground. When we were ROBBED against Port recently, he went and questioned the umpires after the siren went, and earnt himself a fine for $2000 for his passions. When Byron was thinking about giving it all away just last week, he was out to dinner with Wheels, Davey and Travis, and apparently Travis wouldn't let the issue go and was a factor in him deciding to stay on. I don't care what people say about Travis, in my eyes he is one of the most passionate players in our team, and one of our best leaders. If only we could bottle Mclean, Moloney, Jones, Junior and Travis' passion and endeavor, and then somehow inject it into the rest of the team without getting done for drug use.... :o

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
