GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Adelaide

Geez Ch 7 really giving Adelaide the big pump up. You’d think they were 3-0 not 0-3. I hope we can silence everyone with. 7-0 or 8-0 1st quarter.

Just listening to the pre game on Fox.

King told the story of his coaching days at Carey when Jack Viney was there.

He said they had to take Jack out of some games because he was too tough for the other kids !!

Under 18's apparently !!!!

Who was it broke Jack’s jaw in his first game?

Think it was a Cats player.

It was at Casey I reckon - a Geelong player. The name eludes me.

Adelaide fumbling ground balls in the warmup I see. Not going to be good enough tonight.

I mentioned that incident in another thread. Apparently, Viney was NOT intimidated by a much older, seasoned veteran breaking his jaw - he wanted to go on with it!

Too many bandages in the team as they ran out for my liking

I wonder if they'll target Maysies ribs?

Can't believe he's out there.

Apparently a benefit of playing one of the Adelaide sides in Gather round is one less away game in the fixture. I thought we had just as many away games as any other team (excluding the Alice game)?

See above post.

Umpire 22 hey?

Maxy with the first blood in the coin toss.

Can we lose a coin toss? I feel like we win every week?

Surely that’s pretty obvious why.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
