You guys at the game made a heap of noise in enemy territory.
Was proud of yas.

I loved hearing the song being sung with about one minute to go. Well done to those there tonight.

This is just baffling. We’ve seen 3 or 4 this year and there’s absolutely no excuse for getting these so wrong.

I’m convinced Rozee made the Rivers tackle look worse than it actually was. That was a bullshiit decision

Agree, he just stopped mid tackle after the whistle and went limp, reneged in his duty of care for himself. If he’d tried to continue to stand up or use his core no way would he have gone down like that. Umpire fell for it unfortunately.

Nanna used to say, “if the wind changes, you’ll stay like that!”

Now we know she spoke facts!

In this case it was a massive gale.

Simply brilliant by the boys, but I must sat what a nasty, nasty piece work is that No 15 Rioli fellow. When we all check the replay over the weekend, see how many snipes and cheap shots he makes. Simply nasty.

I reckon this was the worst of all of them.

Lol @ Port feral fans.

I was lol-ing ‘til one of them threw a bottle of water at me from his car while I was waiting to cross at the lights. Unfortunately he was a good shot, it hit me in the head. But some decent Port supporters made sure I was ok and I ended up walking the rest of the way with them. More importantly though…

YEAH THE MIGHTY DEES!!!

This was one of those matches that you know already you’re never gonna forget. So, so proud of our boys.

And so happy for Jack. ❤️💙

That was one of the great wins.

Made more remarkable by watching some sort of mirror footy game.

One team dominated territory, clearnces and inside 50s. But often entering into a crowded fifty and missing key chances. Not taking full advantage of momentum.

The other team staying in the game  absorbing pressure in the back half, entering into an open forward line and taking key chances. Taking full advantage of momentum.

Go redlegs.

It's like the reverse from our QF and SF last season 😅

So that was a gifted goal from an original Dee's free kick and Dixon was given a gift for an arm chop 10 metres out when the ball was clearly punched out of his hands.

It's not just the count, it's where they're paid.

Anyways, one of the best grinding wins in the last 3 years. Such a great win.

ANBs best game I reckon. Great hearing him talk about Yzes coaching in telling him to slow a little and take a breath when he has posession. His disposal has improved out of sight.

Good teams just get it done. They belted that team song out so loudly.

We seem to be really tight as a team and club right now.

Put me down as a doubter. I didn't think Tmac and BBB would be fit and fast enough but wow they're making a difference.

She can see out of one eye but her husband must be visually challenged

Absolutely brilliant win. When they got to 16 points up in the third it felt like we were hanging on by fingernails, with the time they had in their forward half, but we defended so well and when the tide turned we took full toll.

-2 CPs, -15 clearancss, -10 tackles despite being -36 disposals and -21 inside 50s. 99.9% chance if Port does that again this year at home they beat whoever they’re playing. For us to win despite that is a testament to the way we’ve changed how we set up and move the ball.

On TV it felt like we retained forwards deeper to ensure we had options; it also felt like when we were at our worst we lost that shape forward of the ball.

ANB humungous, Brown’s leading and aerial contest work was critical, Viney massive all night and Clarry’s final quarter was stunning. TMac was surprisingly good on Dixon, so much so that we felt comfortable swinging Petty forward. Lever’s intercept game was phenomenal but he and Rivers have to improve their kicking, they both made critical errors.

Despite all those shout outs, this was a win that didn’t have Trac, Oliver or Gawn dominating for four quarters. That of itself is massive. (Edit: the stats suggest Gawn was more dominant than I felt while watching. I thought Soldo troubled him at times. But clearly Gawn was good).

These sorts of wins, on the road to boot, can really make something of a season.

Ha!

Collingwood and Port they both use the same Guernsey, and have a similar supporter base I guess... 🤣

As critical of ANB over the journey as anyone but props to him for the game tonight. Seems the forgotten man when listening to the media post game

Just finished watching the replay.

Can someone tell me if that Fritsch last kick was really not a goal?

They never show if the ball goes through the goal line before hitting the post on the opposite side of goal.

Thats correct.

They always ask if the entire ball has crossed the line or not.

If it had, whether it hits the post or not, it's a goal.

They should've gone to the ARC goal line view

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
