If Adelaide want Petty they have the following picks to play with.

4, 29, 42, 60

No way they give up pick 4 and with a year to go on his contract and playing an important role as key position player, we aren't going to settle for 29 plus scraps. Future picks likely to be involved.

Hopefully he just stays with us.

Has pick 29 (which gets pushed back to pick 60 odd) + a future 2nd written all over it

Why do St Kilda have 2 picks before us? (5 and 8).

Or is this an error?

That's incorrect. The Suns have their first round pick and the dogs first round pick

Freo currently have 3 first round picks... their own and one tied to the Magpies and another tied to Port Adelaide.

You would imagine they will trade at least one of those into next year, which given our trading history we may try to get.

Gold Coast and will be an interesting watch as well and how early a bid comes in got Lombard, do they get up ahead of a bid or trade down. Potential new rules may dictate their choices as well.

Brisbane's pick for aschroft as well might be in play.

Perhaps they swap their 4 & 29 for Petty and our 9 & 38?

Yeah, I tend to start looking at the draft too QD. Haven’t done my research (other than hoping for no more St Kilda offcuts)

In the last 25 years, third round picks (not counting father sons) have collectively, at least:

  • accounted for five brownlow medals
  • accounted for 40 odd B&Fs
  • become premiership players 15 times.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
