Pressure is on, don't want a zero and two start. Time to put a difficult preseason behind them.

Those basic errors from last week (the fumbles and missing targets), and the lack of ability to adjust the strategy within the game, have to be fixed.

Stay in the game Dees, or time to slam and make the statement, we are contenders again.

Really hoping our forward line woes are fixed.

We should be better for having a hit out, against a team coming in fresh.

Go Dees!

On the train from Scumbury- a surprising number of Dog supporters!

They are looking far too smug and happy- I feel very much like handing out a jolly good thrashing or two !

Hopefully I’ll arrive at the G in time for a couple of heartstarters with @Moonshadow  ( poor company I’ll admit)

I’ve read a lot of posts along the lines of “Sydney and GWS are the standard we need to match”.

After the last two seasons I think we should all know that flags aren’t won in March. We need the four points far more than we need to look like the best side in it right now.

The train from Gisborne on a nice sprinter might have been better, bitter!

We all need to wear this against Collingwood on KB. Now that would make a statement

This was our immediate thought. But we have to wear the latest FreezeMND beanie during banner raising and while in our bay. We’re gonna come up with a way to incorporate both. 😅

Oh and for peats sake kick straight

Yes, let's not allow inaccurate kicking to bog us down.

Helmet would definitely make a statement, but also vital for ones safety.  I don't feel safe at those games.  Never have, and certainly not now.  There should be some sort of personal safety kit available to hire or purchase, the filth shield or something.

No one will boo harmes today will they? I won't.

Harmes gets a forever free pass for that one famous possie and kick to Fritta.

Given our strong connections as being the pioneers of inducting Irish footballers to Australian Rules. May fond memories of Jimmy Stynes, Sean Wight (hon) et al, be celebrated with your favourite tipple Jamiesons, Guinness, Beamish or Bewley's Irish Breakfast.   🤞  for luck of the Irish. Saint Patrick's Day 🍀 at the 'G Demon's win.

I always saw Harmes as a solid contributor and a genuine nice guy.

Whats to boo?

Why would anyone boo harmes. No true demon supporter would boo him.

I don't know. I remember Hannan getting booed.

Given we bizarrely booed Baker last year who could not have done any less to tick of the supporter base, I’d imagine the answer is a clear yes.

Daniel the sub. Bevo is a sicko. You kinda have to admire it.

Gee Caleb Daniel has gone from just about being an elite kick in the comp to sub.

Hope taj goes well when he gets his chance

That's right it was baker. I knew we booed someone that didn't deserve it

Baker was booed in response to the doggies fans booing hunter. It was a [censored] for tat thing. He wouldn’t have been booed otherwise I reckon.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
