Bont will never leave, doing so would throw that club into utter turmoil and irrelevance. I also think it would be a burden/luggage for Bont to the extent it will affect his footy. As much as every other club would want him, i hope he sorts out whatever riff raff he has going on and stays to be a 1 club player. He is one of the greats of the modern era.

I think the forwardline configuration last night might have raised a few eyebrows at the kennell. Naughton looked so much better without the congestion. Lobb played his role much more effectively too. Either JUH has to come up much more forward and give Naughton space or they move Naughton into the back line. Playing them like they do is not working. Realistically, its hard to see a situation where they trade him...

How do you know this?

Bont's book has a boy with Demon colours. Omen? A certainty to be at the Dees 🤪

This book is great! Got it for my nephew last year and he loves it 😀

Last night    JUH  did not play, is that correct,  Hard to see their forwards playing much better,  maybe he will become surplace ?

No club will recruit him if he does 🙄

Saints were similar to us against Brisbane, stuffed.

Yes. Fatigue, loading and 5 or 6 day breaks mean a hell of a lot to the whole 22.
some might be super fit but the average AFL player feels the difference.

Yeah, I like MFC.

That's it.

I think many of us 'just cannot watch' / 'find no interest, whatsoever' in observing football games in which the Mighty Demons are not playing. To keep abreast of how (well) up-coming opposition sides are playing, we refer to the [censored] media for an ounce of insight, no more. One-eyed it may be, it is a commitment just the same.

Surely they’d sack everyone from the president to the boot-studder before losing Bont..?

I think they'd rather make the Bont captain/coach and president than trade him

Possibly even rename the club Western Bont too!

I was talking to Beveridge and Peter Gordon tuesday and they both said Bontempelli and JUH won't be going anywhere, wait and see I suppose.

Well if not them  then   naught on He can kick,   And they cannot keep them all in the one team,  too many talls   They will trade it’s a commercial decision , win win situation

And a social media embarrassment

Interesting development on JUH. Just find it interesting that this happens to coincide with Doggies big win and Naughton kicking 6 snags. Probably nothing but ... the old adage of smoke and fire.

DOUBT SURROUNDS UGLE-HAGAN’S AVAILABILITY DESPITE ATTENDING BOXING MATCH FOLLOWING PERSONAL ABSENCE

JUH not being at Monday training after being at the boxing on Saturday is curious.

Could not help but notice the following in the next SEN article:

Former Docker, Sun and Demon Harley Bennell kicked 6 goals to help guide the Lions to a 9-point win over Dederang Mount Beauty FNC 15.8 98 to 12.17 89.

It's not nothing but it's not much of something either.

The sooner the Dogs realise that 4 key talls isn't the way 'forward' the better.

I don’t think he’s part of the problem. He plays the secondary sacrificial role. Problem is that JUH and Naughton play the same style of game. Both are stay at home forwards. Either JUH gets on his bike and plays more in the style of Jezza or he goes.

Who are the untouchables at Melbourne? And could they become touchable should JUH be available?

Looking forward to the next post match press conference where Tom Morris asks Bevo about JUH’s long term future at the Bulldogs. Bevo v Morris round 2 lol.  No love lost there. Rumours can only help our chances of prying JUH loose.

They will sack Bevo before they let the Bont walk out. Take that to the bank.

Yep Bevo is on borrowed time!

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
