Headed up the Deadly Hume after watching the Dees at Casey versing The ย Tiges. Spent 5 days coping with 39 degrees and a tsunami of Taylor Swift fans, visited my demons supporting brother ( member) before flying back to Berlin. Beside myself waiting for this game, Go Dees!ย

Family road trip to see the game. But need to break the interstate trip curse... 2018 Prelim and Adelaide Oval against Crows 2020 when they deliberately OOB with no free kick, lost by a point. Wish me luck. Go Dees.

I drove the Hume in the 80s and 90s before it became the relaxed drive it is now ( can highly recommend a break at Jugiong), very risky drive then. What was I thinking! No chance of losing concentration here, 180 kmh does tend to focus oneโ€™s attention.ย

Enjoy the family road trip!

2020 we beat the Crows by 51.

Wishing you all the best, fd โ€ฆ Iโ€™m into the second week of an 8 week break in treatment, and figure that a win tonight will have me in top top condition!

And to you HT I feel the same way about a win

Get to use my interstate supporter free ticket tonightโ€ฆ. ย Live 15 mins by car down the road from the SCG.

Struggling to pay attention at work, butterflies, reading anything about the game that pops up - yep itโ€™s game day!!

ย Looks like there are not many tickets left online so should be a good crowd. ย We need to make some noise!!

Does anyone remember The 12th Manโ€™s bit on the original Wired World of Sports where Peter Caven headbutted poor Tony Lockettโ€™s elbow?

ย

In a continuation of the Deep AFL State conspiracy against us I predict Papley will have a late hit on Max - worse than Websterโ€™s on Simpkin- max will get knocked out, then be suspended for 13 weeks for head butting Poor Papleyโ€™s shoulder. Obviously the AFL will introduce a rule next year to protect the shoulder .

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

The Demon premiership defender who has the reputation the master of intercept possessions as well as great leadership qualities managed only eight senior games this season as he battled injury and form, prompting speculation that he might be enticed to look elsewhere.

โ€œDiscoโ€ took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.ย

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.ย  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.

Clayton Oliver, a four-time best and fairest winner at the club, has navigated a challenging period over the past two years, marked by injuries and personal issues, but has demonstrated promising signs suggesting a return to his optimal form in 2025. He is presently contracted to the club for an additional five years, with a substantial annual salary of approximately $1.7 million in the final seasons of his agreement. All at Melbourne are eagerly anticipating his resurgence to his previous peak performance levels.
