You mean you don’t like the videos of players trying to roll a coin into a fork or stick a clothes peg on a singlet without getting caught? 🙄

Not even a mind as brilliant as yours would have been able to conjure up those two gems Rab!

Or maybe you just have better taste and were recalling a much better era of music Red.

We must excuse all swifties, for they know not what they're doing!

At least it wasn't Bailey Fridge - son of Ted Fridge and nephew of John Fridge.

On both Saturday and Sunday I found myself on a train packed with Swifties. Sunday in particular was intense. I was given a schooling on all things Tay and ended up with three *friendship bracelets. Not a Tay fan, but couldn’t expect to meet so many delightful girls in one (confined) space ever again.

For the uninitiated, the idea is to make friendship bracelets that are Tay-related using coloured beads and beads with letters for song titles etc. The bracelets are then swapped for other bracelets. Of course I didn’t have any bracelets so I swapped a Clarrie key ring (Tay’s fave number is 13), two ribbons (one red and one blue) and a chupa chup. 😁

Beside the point I know, but Fritta couldn’t care less about his name being misspelled. His mum, on the other hand… it’s her pet hate. Beware the wrath of Mrs Fritta, comms dept!  😅

Apparently she started the friendship bracelet thingy many moons ago when only 900 or so ppl attended her concert/s here.  Had a tiny bit of success since it seems!

I propose changing you're nic to WCS (S = Swifty)... or just Swifty!

Granted this is terrible, as is the misspelling of Bayley and the many other errors, but I don’t believe it warrants the level of scathing criticism it’s copping on here… and I’m a professional proofreader. I’ve been proofreading for over 20 years and believe me, my standard is very high. But you pick your battles.

While I agree our communications game needs lifting, I’d sooner all efforts are directed at winning a premiership, even at the expense of other aspects of the Club.

Someone on here compared us to West Coast in terms of comms. West Coast… the hot mess languishing at the bottom of the ladder apparently have a shmick livestream of open training sessions. Impressive, right?

The old adage is wrong.

The fish rots from the guts.  All that bacteria, you see.

I thought that Andrew Dillon endorsed our senior management and Leadership group quite strongly this afternoon. We have been let down but I would suggest it’s not by any of the club’s leaders.

I, my family and a lot of friends went absolutely bananas after our big win in ‘21 and I couldn’t speak more highly of the way we were able to order and receive our merchandise from MFC, our mob really stepped up and that was despite Covid, so I guess all clubs step up when the big bucks are concerned.😁

I too had no issues with dealing with the club when it came to the bounty of merchandise that I ordered. There was some items that were on back order or not available and they were very accommodating and helpful in a period that would have been very busy as a result of the flag and difficult as a result of COVID related issues.

That was likely due to COVID related supply chain issues.

Good interview with Max at Captains day at Marvel and a nice Gallery of all the new players with their families at the formal jumper presentations at Coterie function on the MFC website today. Max is looking very business like.

Seems Caleb is rated so highly there’s two of him 😂

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
