It's not my job to do your homework many people here know what I have said on this matter, I also asked you a question which you did not answer. Let's see what happens when you answer my question.

I thought you might be interested in a discussion on game plan and where things went wrong for us.

Obviously my mistake.

There is an old saying along the lines of don't answer a question with a question.

It's a pretty reasonable response.

I will say this slowly because it seems you struggle to understand my post,  I said before I answer, I then asked you a question which you seem to not answer at all so when you do that I answer you

Ahh the pre season. That lovely time of year when a perfectly good training thread turns into an off season p*****g match.

Good times!!

Got to keep our sub tactics top secret.

I've heard from a reliable source that they didn't bring schache on in the semi so as not to impact his preseason.

Oh lets play the victim card Jesus I have on that many occasions explained myself if you are to lazy to read them then that's not my fault, and by the way where have I been wrong in 22 and 23 please point it out I will be waiting and as for me not accepting other explanations my suggest you look at yourself first.

You should be senior coach, seem to have all the answers. And a people-person too boot!

Sorry, are you annoyed about the sub situation from the semi finals? I couldn’t tell. It’s the first time you’ve ever mentioned it.

Of course not. Despite the belief held by many posters on this forum that our gameplan has not changed since 2021, it has been adjusted each preseason due to changes in our list and the way the opposition has responded to it. However, once the season gets underway, successful teams adhere to their gameplan, so when players are injured, there are VFL players available to step in and carry out the plan. The issue we faced last season—which I previously discussed—was that we lost so many important players, leaving us shorthanded. The cupboard was bare. It is difficult to suddenly and drastically alter a system that players have become accustomed to and react instinctively to something different, especially during a finals campaign.

I didn't think that we lost that many important players, and if so they were at the end of the season and apart from two, Oliver and Petty, they were really below best ten, or 15.

I don't agree with underestimating Hunter's worth! Here's a quick comparison with other prominent wingman types.

Hunter: games 197, av disposals 23

Ed Langdon: 157, 20

Bailey Smith: 103, 22

Isaac Smith: 280, 21

Josh Daicos: 103, 20

I guess there can be career averages and recent form.

And then there is disposal efficiency which you don’t quote.

Frittata and Melksham don’t count then?

And positions don’t matter eg if it was, say, from our top 15, heaven forbid Rivers and Langdon, it would be far less impactful than Petty, Melksham, Frittata (Brown even) all at once.  There was no key forward structure left.

I tell you what, no excuses regarding wet weather footy next year. I don't think they have  had more than a couple of dry sessions yet.

Lachie Hunter looks visibility lighter and more fleet of foot.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
