Eliza Reilly has reported we are showing interest in Roxy Roux from Fremantle.

Interesting. Aside from having the best name in footy, probably hasn't reached the heights expected at Freo. I seem to recall there being rumours that she wanted out last season as well. EDIT: Just been traded to West Coast.

The truth comes out! Haha, just kidding. I suspect the DA may not be alone on this. It probably won't surprise anyone that Libby did not make my "top 10 players to please, please let us keep" list. There's always a bit of regret to see a premiership player go though, and no one would deny she had a her part in that flag, as did West and Sherriff.

Without knowing what the draft pool is like I reckon Pick 5 and 26 for sheriff and west is more than fair. Good business I reckon.

pick 19 for birch seems unders for an AA defender but she did have a poor season so maybe not.

Appreciate people's thoughts on if we've done well or not in what we've received. It's not something I have a good gauge on at all.

She's been traded to West Coast this afternoon.

We gave the Hawks 16 in the deal roo

The big question is which of the top draft picks stay in the Vic only pool.

No doubt the afl will try to convince someone to go to GWS.

But if we effectively get the 2nd best Victorian that would be a great result.

I suspect we’ll ask North for 19 and 38 at a minimum.

Tomorrow night’s B&F should be fun.  Not a lot of love for Libby from many of the DA.

😬

Unlike last year’s… that was nothing but fun!

She's one player from afar that I don't warm to...but know nothing of her really.

Actually, same here. I’ve spoken to her a few times and she’s not nearly as friendly as the other girls. Also, I’ve never liked how invested she is in her media career, seems like it takes priority over her playing career. I kinda wasn’t surprised to hear she wants to leave us.

Media career? Jeepers.

Can barely string two words together and a voice like fingernails down a blackboard.

Anyway….good luck to her.

Yeah at one of our BBQs at Gosch’s this year she was on the mic with Robbo. It didn’t help that our tent was close to a bank of speakers but holy cr4pp, she was insufferable. We literally couldn’t hear a thing other than her unlistenable voice. Robbo was just as loud but at least he was kind to our ears.

I think I know the day you are talking about.  And yes, most irritating. 🥴

No love for Libby anymore. Human nature I suppose.

As a long term fan of hers it’s sad to see people pile on

You love Libby like Picket Fence loves Charlie Spargo

Libby was a star in season 7 and in the premiership.  She didn’t have the greatest season just gone but was serviceable imv.  One of our leaders and I think could be excused for a down year.  Would be sad to see her go.  Others also weren’t at their best this year by the way. It’s not all on Libby that the Dees fell away in straight sets.

We had to include a pick to get a first for Birch, yikes

She must be on a salary that no longer befits her standing on the team - why else would you have to give back a draft pick for a 26 year old 2 x All Australian, 2 x premiership player?

The Age / Nine Media must have shares in the Kangas?

Disappointing trade outcome however it is probably fair value given Birch’s best is behind her. If Wilson gets to the Suns, who is next in line for the 2nd tall?

Or more likely the AFL want them to experience success given their men’s teams disaster last 5 years

Colvin’s a good player but she’s old and injury prone.

Personally I’d try Bannan and see if she can develop as a player down back, and if that doesn’t work I’d go with Tay Harris.

We have forward options including using Loz Pearce forward and Campbell in the ruck.

Umm, we got  a first round pick for her, that's not too disappointing.

I'm loath to say it, but her goal kicking has probably proven to be not up to it.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
