Re Harrison staying or going, what do we make of the last part of Jacob's last response in this?...

What I got from that is that Jacob is a great kid. He's got the right attitude and the raw talent that, with time and development, will see him become one of the best KPF's in the game.

It's great that he'd love to play with Petty, but I have a feeling he will make it work with whoever he partners up forward in the years ahead.

I'm not sure how much we can actually take from it , but I certainly loved hearing it.
It tells me that JVR certainly has the right attitude, and that can only be beneficial in respect to any influence any teammates MAY have on his eventual decision.

An odd feature for a player who is supposedly leaving the club 🤷‍♀️

If Dannyz thinks he's out the door then our club will be planning accordingly for his exit.

I’ll start by saying that I hope Petty stays with us. However, the reality is that he has not been successful as a forward. In the 16 games he’s played since his bag of 6 a year ago he’s booted a total of 5 goals ie an average of one goal every three games.
Yes, he has been subbed off in two games and has played in defence at least once,
His best game this year was against the Hawks where he played in defence.

We need another tall forward to support JvR. BBB is not performing and IMO is unlikely to last the season.
I’d try Disco or Fullerton forward. Not sure whose place Petty takes if he goes back.

His versatility would make him a good sub. Just sayin’

I'm really surprised by those stats. I didn't think he'd played fwd that much. There not flattering performances.

Has he said that?

Hi Redleg. Yeah, it's a little further back in this thread.

My mistake. Petty played primarily in the backline following the ANZAC game last year.

I thought something was nqr with those.

I think he'll be alright as a fwd. He's certainly showing signs of not having a good pre season.

Hell come good. Pretty sure you don't fluke bags of six . He's got the talent to play fwd and back.

Well he has a great record with his info, so I will prepare myself for a Petty departure at seasons’ end.

Given BBB will probably retire, Smith is probably gone too and Jeffo isn’t up to it atm, we will have a desperate need for a couple of experienced key forwards.

A player like Lukosius who is rumoured to be available and a bigger bodied experienced key forward, would have to be targets for us.

I wanted Treacy included in the LJ deal, but it didn’t happen.

I think Turner could be a chance to play forward in the future, if we are desperate.

Verall is another who could play forward, as he has good hands.

I wonder if Fullarton could also be trained up to play a more permanent forward role. A bit more muscle could help him.

I am sure if we know Petty is leaving, we will be preparing for it. It will be an interesting watch.

It was round 20 when he kicked 6. Was subbed out of the following game with two to his name. He has been returning from a tricky injury since.

It's a very impressive feature from the club. That's the sort of content many of us have been crying out for.

Great access, really good coverage from a filmmaking perspective. Be great to get these sort of features regularly. Not once a season type thing.

The Clare Pettyfor appointment already stamping its influence.

When was she employed? Because it's clear they started filming it last year.

Could be why Turner now playing forward?

Yes you are correct actually

I love this type of close up expose of Harrison being wheeled into the operating theatre, the footage of the Specialist, the administering the anaesthetic, then the long recovery period, etc, like previously mentioned I crave this kind of behind the scenes documentary. Top shelf MFC, Harrison, fitness and coaching staff.💕

On the last day of trade Adelaide offered two first rounders, 11 and 15

Which would've ended up 16 and 21 due to compo and bid matching

He said, in his opinion, he was out the door as opposed to being intel in this instance*

*wishful thinking

I thought it was pretty clear to anyone who read his post that he was giving an opinion. He wrote IMO. He didn't say that he had knowledge that he was out the door and I didn't suggest that he did.

Agreed

What's the fuss

1goal per 3 games isn't going to matter much as well as injury prone

We be lucky to get a second round for him at the moment

Let the play play and maybe Adelaide will make a stupid offer you can only hope

Can that dodgy earlier stat be cleared up somehow? By total average, Harry has in fact kicked a goal every three games across his entire career.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
