I think it has been raised before, but is it true that the Chairman of the Tribunal , who basically dictated to the tribunal that despite all the evidence Maynard was blameless, is a Collingwood member (if not even more involved in that club)?   If so the AFL failed to address a massive conflict of interest.   No surprise at all by the way.  No wonder that at least some folk believe that the AFL may be corrupt to the core.

But thats the very essence..   it ISNT a conflict of interest to the AFL..  it's  their very objective.

Seeing that dog [censored] Brayden "the Thug" Maynard win a Premiership Medallion is an absolute disgrace!

I hope someone accidentally runs that piece of slime over with a truck!

I hate that [censored] [censored] more than any other player in the AFL now! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Don't really care about your opinion.

This is a discussion forum and if I want to vent my frustrations then I will!

I am [censored] angry and I [censored] hate Brayden "the Thug" Maynard for his vile act on Angus Brayshaw. Especially as Angus Brayshaw could of been killed.

If it was the other way around Eddie McGuire and the rest of the scum at Collingwood would of been screaming blue murder! The fact that this thuggery was allowed to go unpunished is far worse than any mere words I type here on the Internet.

The fact that the Melbourne Football Club didn't even make a public statement in support of Angus Brayshaw and voice their anger at the AFL tribunal for not at least attempting to appeal the "not guilty" decision is also a travesty and incredibly disappointing.

I thought it was [censored] soft as butter for not standing up to the AFL and Collingwood. Talk about bias and blatant corruption! The big Clubs always screw over the smaller Clubs! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Anyway, I am having a break from Demonland for a while.

Maybe you were gonna take a break from Demonland anyways but please don’t let the reason be because you’ve been told to calm down. You don’t have to calm down. You have every right to vent; that’s one of the best things about this forum. 💕

There's actually a difference between venting and then wishing someone gets hit by a bus.

I'm all for venting away, go for it! But then it's beyond pathetic when people are saying such [censored].

Thought we were better then this. Clearly not.

Do you think for even a second that the poster actually wishes Maynard was hit by a bus? Things said in extreme anger aren’t always meant. Even if the poster did wish for it to happen, it’s not like he’s threatening to drive a bus, hunt down Maynard and run him over.

I empathise with the poster because I know only too well how much it sucks to be told to calm down when calming down is the single least likely thing to happen.

I find this a bit pot kettle black.

You're happy to jump down other people's throat on here when things are said in the heat of the moment regarding any Melbourne player but when the shoe is on the other foot such as this its all good and well because someone wears a different jumper?

Can't pick and choose just to suit your narrative here.

Things said in extreme anger are a sign of passion not intent.  99% of the time anyway.

You could add up every single transgression of every single MFC player past, present and future and it still wouldn’t come anywhere near what Maynard did. So, unfair comparison right there.

And yes, I do jump down people’s throats when they say things like, “Brayshaw is an unfit slob,” or “Harmes to cop a week? I hope he gets two weeks.” And I’ll continue to do so, much to the chagrin of people who make these insulting comments because they’re not said in the heat of the moment and even if they were, they’re hugely disproportionate to whatever it is about which they’re being criticised.

Not said in heat of moment? Similiar comments to what you have just mentioned have either been said in game day threads or post game straight after a loss. If that isn't exactly heat of the moment then I don't know what is.

I hate Maynard more then anything and watching him gloat around on the weekend has only just intensified that even more but when we're stooping to Collingwood levels of filth language saying "he wishes he gets hit by a bus" then [censored] that, I'll call him out on it whether he meant it or not, just as you've called people out when they too haven't meant what they said in the heat of the moment.

Call him whatever name you want under the sun, I'll happily join in, but [censored] that stuff off about wishing people to be hit by a bus.

I'm leaving at this because I'm simply moving on now.

I have come back.

I apologise for my nasty comments.

They went too far and I shouldn't have sunk to the level of a Collingwood supporter.

I am sorry to any who found what I said crude, unpleasant and vindictive.

I shouldn't post on Demonland when drunk and angry. Lesson learned.

Bit after the horse has bolted stuff. The Family, Angus and Football are the big casualties here, and quite possibly  Maynard himself. I can remember a bloke in GF chased another bloke off the ground and into the carpark and bashed him that the cops had to be called and he was never the same person again. Captain of the side and the fairest player one could see, but something personal switched him and that was it.

The horse bolted the moment Maynard was let off. Any article that highlights the injustice of it is most welcome, especially as time rolls on. I don’t want it to be forgotten about.

My intention is more about the act of violence having a permanent effect on the protagonist.

And as you say if he is reminded of it enough he will never forget it and he is not the only one in that situation.

We all agree. We hate Maynard. Case closed.

And we also hate Collingwood and the AFL and Eddy Mc Guire - probably more than even before if that was possible.

For the next umpteen times we play them, we should really be expecting our side to serve their own version of justice on those a-holes.  Makes duck dinners look like kiddies talk.

No! Not case closed! Closing the case is what Maynard and Collingwood and the AFL want. They want it to go away. In essence, closing the case means giving the culprits exactly what they want and that just compounds the injustice of it all.

Booing isn’t nearly enough. It will be like water off a duck’s back. The grub clearly lacks feelings. But if booing is all we’ve got to keep this injustice in people’s minds then I suppose that’s a start.

Maybe time to delete this thread Andy? It’s pretty toxic tbh.

And just let it slide? We’ll all just forget it never happened then, is that what you think should happen? If that’s how you feel, good on you, I wish I could say the same but I can’t. And this is the only place I can go to express my abject anger with that thug and Collingwood and their little b!ttch aka the AFL.

Please DON’T delete this thread, Andy.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
