Since Nth AFL play Saturday, the North VFL will have all AFL emergencies and others available, given that their AFL team is finished for the season. Can players who play a full game Saturday be available for the Sunday game?

Their fans will also be able to be engaged.

I would have thought, that the team above all the teams playing in VFL wildcard games, would get the advantages.

I can't imagine both of them making the trek to Casey.

Ironically enough, both of their fans are, in fact, engaged.

Beautiful story.

Ugly set.

But beautiful story.

This is a strong Casey team and it should be very capable of handling a North Melbourne side whose senior counterpart is switched off and which has hardly given a whimper lately.

Melbourne has an injury list of five players - Brown, Hibberd, Howes, Petty and Sestan. The only other list player missing is rookie Farris-White who doesn’t make the team at this point anyway because Grundy, Verrall (and even Casey listed Jack Bell) are all ahead of him.

All of Melbourne’s emergencies are named in this side but two will be on the flight - one to take his place as the sub and another as travelling emergency. This will leave 14 AFL listed players in the Casey team plus some hardened, experienced VFL players in the lineup. Casey should be too strong.

Bad scheduling again.

Seems I will watch Casey on AFL live app and record the Sydney game, unless anyone knows how to watch a replay of the VFL games?

Can VFL games be watched on replay?

Posted (edited)

Given the coincidental timing of both games this afternoon. Casey watchers will be ‘twixt and ‘tween.

Kev you can go split screen in the home theatre! If my recollection serves me well? You can access VFL replays on the AFL website.

A big game from Grundy won't go astray.

Like the move of Jefferson to the wing. Gets his work load up, and gives us a different look at him. My guess he is an attacking mid, as I haven't seen him tackle with intent and consistency.

We remain a strong and balanced team, go get 'em "Whitey".

Desperation, pressure and holding the momentum, go a long way in "hard" games.

A good experience for our youth. The build up can only set them up, for more to come. With the veterans offering leadership, poise and belief.

Go Dees.

Oh, surfed around in the website, and it ripped me to the island of VFL match centre, which has the previous rounds game in replay.

Thanks Tarax

Gee Kev your tenacity and committment cant be queried. But that means turning off DL as well as any other communication. I thought YouTube had VFL highlights, but I guess that not good enough scrutiny.

Had a look on the AFL website but couldn't find the link.

No split, on my old LED.

Set up is very similar to  accessing replays of AFL matches. Scroll down AFL homepage you will see a line of links to SANFL WAFL VFL etc blink and you will miss it!

I am not a father. I guess that is why I have time on my hands.

Bit of a conscientious objector. Not wrapped with where I see society heading.

Yes.

Games remain on AFL site. You can access after the game. I am not sure how long for but it is at least days, maybe weeks, maybe longer.

Every generation says pretty much the same thing. Despite our protestations we all end up emulating our parents & grandparents 🤯

I'm  over 60.

If you work on personal development and search for freedom, you can find yourself, and dispose of the parental or societal conditioning that doesn't suit.

Unlike our previous generations, information is now just a click away. We can have more understanding, with access to knowledge, than ever before in the history of us.

Look what we do with it, rinse and repeat. Not many have time to discover, and experience, the simple and sacred, "being here".

When do they name the final team? I’m interested to know how many emergencies we have taken to Sydney

Laurie and Tomlinson are both in Sydney according to some previous posts.

I would imagine McDonald will get a full run at Casey. Not sure if woewy is up there or playing at Casey.

That being the case I think Laurie will be the tactical sub and Tomlinson the travelling emergency in case a tall becomes unavailable before the game.

Looks like  Colly will win against Tigers (VFL).

Tiges in similar position as us, AFL playing today, so not all players available.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
