My god our backline is struggling today

Talk to the mids. Too easy for them.

A better quarter from us, out worked them and levelled up the uncontested ball. Playing helter skelter footy was playing into their hands, looking at more composed and making the Tigers do a bit more running without the ball. They also look like they are starting to tire as they were missing the mark with basic skills that they were hitting with ease in the first half.

Anyone's game, hope we can kick a few early, got vibes from Geelong a few weeks ago so need to start the quarter very well.

Very damm simple he has no tank put him in for a full quarter and that's him, great speed in short bursts and sometimes that's how some players are, then they become a liability sooner him stay inside the 50 metre arc more dangerous.

Not if he doesn't get his hands on it

Tigers started going down the line rather than running the ball through the mid, maybe a result of tiring

Got that on our terms. Tiges will keep coming. If we are serious in 23 then we need to impose ourselves right now.

If someone told me Petty had four... Melksham and Jvr three at three quarters...I'd have bet the farm.

They are punching it and kicking off the ground to get it forward, where they can run onto it.

We should be doing the same as fast entry will win it.

10 inside 50s for 0 points. One inside 50 for a goal. It’s so frustrating

The justification for Nibbler in the team is getting harder to swallow.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
