I will never understand why people melt after wins on here when we have rounds like this.

Felt guilty barracking for Freo today, but it couldn’t have worked out any better.

Footy is our religion.

As I suspected, they went hard early because Ken’s job is very much on the line. It’s impossible to sustain for 24 rounds then finals.
Will they find a third gear in time?

Only @binman can answer this one 😂

My take is it extremely difficult to back up after a game as intense and physical as last weeks pies port game - particularly if it is another high stakes, high pressure game.

I mean, the evidence simply could not be clearer.

It's not that the pies and port, first and second on the ladder, both lost.

It's how they lost - both teams were gassed from the get go.

I wouldn't be writing port off on the back of that game.

That said i think it is a joke so many 'experts' had a top three - pies, port and lions - and the rest.

And I'm glad I've banged in about it. Peanuts everywhere in the media.

And on port - I didn't rate them in the top 3 prior to that game. So nothing has changed.

My one regret on the punting front is not backing the crows over 39.

Had the line and win bets covered, but should have had a nibble on the over 39 because that game was my best bet of the year. The crows were set for it. And as I expected port were gassed.

BigFooty Port Adelaide (don't mind this):

The blinds will be down for spa time tonight down at hinkley palace. Donna has the swing out, the greyhound dog crate, the greyhound leash and the bunny soft toy.

I may be going 0-9 hahaha

Obviously I want to be 1-8, Dees over the Tigers 🤞🏻

I don't think I have seen a round of football with this many upsets ever will be interesting tomorrow with the North v Eagles and Hawks v Saints.

Are you backing them to beat Geelong next week?

Also is Ashcroft that important to the Lions? Their midfield was trash today. GC shut down Neale and that was curtains. They’re back to being one paced again.

Buddy is a spent force. It’s actually better for us if he plays

Might be true now that he's pinged a hamstring, but his previous three games netted seven goals and four goal assists. Very handy spent force!

I was just thinking about that Saints game. I chance to secure 5th spot. It’s just the sort of game they’ll cough up.

I reckon WC may be a chance, NM could be aiming to finish below WC.

Are there even any favourites in those games?

How does a game of rugby union at the MCG get 84,000? I don’t know anyone in this city that cares about it.

Always good to watch a big sport at the highest level.

I didn't watch the cats dockers game, so not sure how poorly cats played.

But i can't see the cats losing twice in a row at home, particularly because port will struggle to come up after two weeks of intense footy and have to travel.

On rhe travel, interstate teams must hate playing at kp because they have to fly into tulla and then get in a bus for what, 75 mins, down to Geelong?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
