Correct.
Geelong still have to play Brisbane in Brisbane, Port and Pies. If they’re to overtake us we need to lose 2-3 more games and realistically they have to win every game.

So… you’ll be…. going for…. Geelong… tonight? Never thought I’d see the day.

Lol, Cotrell, Silvagni and Motlop have combined for 9 of their 11 goals.

Please. I’ll be watching a movie and drinking wine to avoid watching them play.

Thai whisky isnt as strong as western plonk. Having said that, hundreds of 'farang' have died here from alcohol abuse. Not unusual for a farang tourist to run naked down the street or throw tv's and furniture out of hotel windows. They cant handle humidity and Asian grog at the same time.

Maybe they're just furious at the standard of umpiring in the AFL.

I’m interested in your thoughts on how you think Port is going to “load” manage from here.

So we're...gulp...barracking for Hawthorn tomorrow in the vague hope that they could move above the Dockers by season's end?

Not sure what you mean.

How is that related to my Bangkok gag?

It’s not. I just wanted to tag you in the post so you see it 😂

I am genuinely interested to know what you think Port will do for the remainder of the H&A season to make sure they hit peak form in September.
I feel like they’ve gone too hard too early and tinkering now is very risky.

Port defence looks poor.

Getting towelled up by Silvani and Motlop!

I'm just going to whisper this quietly, but we are halfway through the round and so far every single result has fallen in our favour to absolute perfection.

We are now at minimum a game and good percentage clear of 5th, which can be only one team, with the rest of the top-8 chasing from at least two games behind.

At the other end, Gold Coast and the Swans have both pulled ahead of the Dockers.

Carlton as I type this are going into the final quarter 5 goals up against Port, which would put them a win and a draw ahead of Freo while also... just maybe... cracking the dome at Port.

Carlton fans to be up and about again.

Carlton equivalent of MFCSS is the eternal lament 'Great too late, where was this in April to June?'.

They'll be having very mixed feelings at the moment, especially with the Harry McKay injury.

Personally I hope they make finals by percentage over Geelong and then knock Essendon out in the elimination final, just because that would be the most possible pain for Cats and Bombers.

Top 3 on the Coleman are all in teams outside the 8

that ever happened before??

Hinkley will regret this game. he might reckon after 12 wins a loss is fine. but you don’t flirt with form.

i reckon in a months time we won’t be speaking of Port in the same terms as we are right now

they have the Pies/Crows/Cats away. reckon they win one of them and i wouldnt bet against the crows either

Great to see Hinkley sulking on the bench instead of strutting his smug mug on the boundary line.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that we could snatch second on percentage by year's end

But that requires us winning all the remaining games right? Maybe lose one at the most.

With Port losing handily today, Melbourne's 17 game winning streak from round 20 of 2021 to round 10 of 2022 remains the longest since St Kilda won 19 in a row in 2009.

Can’t help but wonder if Kenny’s contract will end up being the undoing for Port. He needed them to be up and about, but can they sustain it for a long season? They’ll have doubts. I don’t see them preparing to be at their best in September.

It's fundamentally based on Port losing it big time (and I can see this happening) and us dropping one, at worst two. But if you look at the draw, it's possible. And Brisbane has a tougher rum imo than we do

it was 13

Don't think Port will beat Pies, are 50/50 (away) against Adelaide and won't beat Cats away. That'd certainly get the wheels wobbling.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
