Dogs - woof woof

Dees - please Dees

4 and 20s - for now they will lose win it matters most.

Suns - Rub it in the coaches face, well ex coaches face

Port - Sad but they will win again.

Cats - Bombers back to outside the eight.

Crows - Give their fans hope and take it away next week.

Hawks - It's only North.

Tigers - Two in a row will be tough but it's West Coast so should get it done.

Most of the games speak for themselves in terms of how it benefits us.

I'm not sure if it's better if Geelong or Essendon win?

A Geelong loss would bid farewell to their top 4 chances which is great, but an Essendon win means that they're well and truly in the hunt for a top 4 spot.

Swans v dogs is an 8 pointer from our perspective. Swans win means they'll overtake Freo while the loss for the doggies gives us another game buffer between us and them.

would also like to see Port beaten. I don't like their win streak and want to see it end.

the 8% chance of an Eagles win is generous. More like 1%. They are putrid.

Geelong, definitely Geelong.

We must never barrack for Essendon. My doctor says it’s bad for our health.

Given that Geelong will virtually live at home for the rest of the season, enjoying the advantage that confers, best it be the Bombers that win this one. Also hoping the Swans knock off the Dogs (not impossible), the Suns to account for the Saints so we score some breathing room.

Yes a lot of Melbourne supporters allergies to Essendon started around September 2000.

Tough round for Picking winners. As long as the Dees, Swans and lessor extent Suns and Pies win that would be a great outcome.

Suns
Carltank
Cats
Giants
Hawks
Tigers

Just my tips, think it’s pretty obvious what favours us.

My psychiatrist has the asylum on speed dial on the off chance I ever barrack for Geelong.

Watching the Swans so far I reckon Longmire has run out of ideas

Yep, he’s done as their coach.

Why oh why did I tip the Swans tonight?

Never thought I was say this but I might cheer for Essendon. These days I cannot stand that jumper, ground, their supporters, Chris Scott, etc, etc.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • GAMEDAY: Gold Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons are back at the MCG and have a massive challenge ahead of them as they take on Premiership contender the Gold Coast Suns. What do you want to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
