So many people question Voss's coaching, but the game plan looks quite good. It is the blues players! They are doing well in the air, at stoppages, around the ground etc... they just can't kick. Their kicking inside forward 50 is so bog ordinary, and the targets they miss when unpressured must totally burn the coaches.

If Rowbottam, Warner and others would take first option instead of trying to break every tackle or run through 3 players, the Swans would have a lot more F50 entries. Must be annoying for their forwards.

And both Swans & Blues are not good tacklers. So many get broken.

Could be a great game, and it is not too bad, but unpressured skill level  is ruining it.

How romantic.

Have some beef too to round out the ‘3 B’s’

This shouldn’t be confused with Bug Ben Brown.

…aaaaand romantic feeling gone.

I’m struggling to watch other games at the moment. The AFL is doing my head in. Sounds like this game is trash and I’m not missing out on much.

Said this a couple of weeks ago, games just a mess. I’m struggling even getting into our matches.

I'm not sure if it's strictly on topic, but those women in Boney M were really hot.

Not strictly on-topic, Bingers. But very close.

When was the last time Parker played a game without a bandaged head?

I gave up, it's a pile of garbage.

Surely Franklin must retire at the end of the season? A shadow of his former self.

Other than his kicking Curnow (Charlie) is playing really well.

What's up with Walsh?

Warner tries to take on the tackler too often.

Excuse my ramblings.

They’re way more interesting than this match.
🥱

I flicked over to check the NRL score and even checked the fox cricket channel to see if there was anything on.

So how are Norf going to muck it up this week?

Given their arithmetic is pretty dodgy, I'm backing they'll have 19 on the field at some point.

Watched the last ever episode of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel instead. 10/10. A must watch and way better for your soul.

A lot of football for no effect. Half back lines are dominating the game. The stats show Carlton kicking at 75% efficiency. Absolute rubbish. Their field kicking is a mess, and the Swans not much better.

Cerrra a chance to get suspended with that sling tackle on Hickey?

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
