That was pure and simple, teary eyed, beautiful!  Thank you MFC, Kozzi, Wheels and Tracc. Teary eyed beautiful!  I’m so proud to be a lifetime Member of our great Club!

Is that a category of membership which I don't think I've previously known about or are you just referring to your personal lifetime support for the club? If it's the former, it's something I should look into.

Yes, sorry LD-vC, I should have been more clear.  I was referring to my personal lifelong support for our Club, which dates from the early 1950s.

Seriously loved that! I wish that went for an hour.

Matthew Whelan doesn't get enough credit for his impact at the footy club as a player  mentor to Aaron Davey in his playing days to then having a significant role off field to our indigenous players like Koz.

Agree, Matt Whelan has been a really important part of the footy clubs growth, nice to see him in the video

Great stuff. Just one thing missing for the moment. Why hasn't our Board officially supported a First Nations Voice to Parliament? Essendon has. We are at the "Stretch" stage of our Reconciliation Action Plan. Time to Stretch and make that call! What are we waiting for? Let's keep leading in this space.

Read the room Hawk. This is not the time or the place for a political comment. You never seem to learn.

I think that's part of the problem. The statement from the heart- Truth, Voice, Treaty and the upcoming referendum should not be about politics.
I reckon this is about our nation's values into the future and how we walk forward with our first nation's people together as a nation.
Politics just get's in the way and muddies the water.

BTW, Nev Jetta is on AFL360 tonight 💖

What you've all said re the video, its participants, its messages, and our club.

And what a great place Kozzie comes from, both physically and emotionally.

Just watched it. Brilliant.

And was thinking exactly that about wheels. I loved him as player, but i think his off-field contribution will be hid real legacy at the club.

Just one example is that it is highly likely wheels was major factor in Kozzie's decision to stay with the club.

But the biggest impact is on the strengthening cultural awareness, cultural capability at cultural safety at the MFC.

For some perspective on how far we've come, i went to the 2017 AGM and was amazed there was no acknowledgment of country, let alone welcome to country.

I wrote to then President Bartlett, and to his and the club's credit they agreed it was an oversight and committed to ensuring the oversight was not repeated. And again, to their credit, it hasn't.

That's just 6 years ago.

We now have a Reconciliation Action Plan, the indigenous jumpers and the brilliant Narrm initiative (i amazed how impactful that has been).

And most importantly of all, it would appear from comments from koz and maysie, an environment where Aboriginal and Tores Strait Island players feel safe, and their culture respected.

Wheels has been at the heart of all of that.

Thankful to Kozzy and his family for allowing this to be filmed and shared with all of us, very generous.

This was really thoughtfully put together. We've always got more to learn and there's so much opportunity through our connection with Narrm. I hope we can be better and better in this space.

(On a side note, how about the kid greeting Trac, "Love your cooking TikToks"!)

Sorry NC - it's exactly the right time. Let's build on this fabulous trip. Do we believe in our RAP plan or not?

Matty Whelan is one of my all time favourite players…. Love that what he did on the field and now off the field! He is red and blue thru and thru

And the greatest hip and shoulder ever laid in AFL…. Would get a 700 week suspension for it these days.

Loved how he called out to the Richmond bench when Nathan Brown broke his leg. A sign of the man and that injury was gut wrenching awful.

Really nice interview with Eddie Betts and Nev Jetta last night.
Nev has worked with Eddie to launch the Eddie Betts foundation - https://eddiebetts.foundation/

Hope Nev ends up back with us at some point in the future. Love the bloke.

For those in Perth (D'landers feel free to tag WA members in case they're interested), he's doing a fundraiser night / Q&A with his cousin Lewis Jetta for a junior footy club soon. Buggered if I could find any details online.
Would be interesting to hear their stories about finding their way into the AFL.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
