What an outrage!  *shakes fist*

Don't mind it personally.  Now I can book my parking and turn up whenever I like, knowing I'll have a spot, rather than going as close to gate opening time as possible and then needing to kill a couple of hours.

Plus, other than pre-booked parking in the city (which yes, you book online), it's the cheapest and most convenient footy parking in town.

Edit - for anyone intending to drive in that doesnt know about the change:

https://mcg.org.au/getting-around/parking-schedule

What a complete bunfight this will be when 25000 turn up to park without pre-booked tickets.

PLus the fact that Ticketek will completely stuff up every aspect of this.

Not much these days, just collar it and you're good.

Just be sure pants are one of the two pieces. 🤭

This new jacket I got from the Scarborough Surf Club in Jan is seriously one of the most comfortable and warm jackets ever. Will be bringing that along for sure!

JVR 5, Schache and Kozzy 3 each.  Not sure who kicks the other 15 goals.

North were witches hats the last two weeks and whatever resistance they muster won’t last long.  And as I’m a supporter, it doesn’t matter if I’m taking them lightly. MFC by 60+ 😁😁

2. poor umpiring against us. Predicting at least 3-4 gifted goals

Well Donlon hates us, Razor love Gus (bodes well for his 150th) and umpires 37 & 38 have umpired less than 5 games each. So who knows.

Matching daks?

I’m sure apart from being warm you’ll look a million bucks!

I bought a new DA beanie before round one and am rapt to be finally getting the opportunity to wear it. The other 25 beanies at home are now meh.

Speaking of beanies, the bloke sitting next to me on the train right now is wearing a beanie and a really thick coat and either he’s fat or he’s a proponent of many layers (like I am, only not 30+ layers at one time), but methinks he doesn’t need it. If I get to Flinders without passing out due to his pungent gut-churning body odour it’ll be a minor miracle. DL is the only thing keeping me upright atm 🤢

Remember the OX

I've heard that Schwarter played at over 115 on occasions. Hoping Jvr won't get that big. I think DS was taller too.

I'm not nervous at all. I'm expecting a good win tonight. Should I be worried?

I mean if we're going to be a serious contender we should properly win easily tonight

North were as physical against us as any team was last season. They are a better team now, and I expect they'll hit us very hard. I hope our guys aren't expecting an easy game. I'd like to see us hit them physically hard early and not give them the upper hand. This one makes me nervous.

Doctors told him to put on wait to help stabilise his knee. Despite 3 knee recos, we haven’t had a better CHF since Ox.

Wish we were going in with another key back tonight.
We were exposed in defence v Essendon and Nth will look to do the same.

Gawn dropping back is great but Grundy is a liability in the marking contest.

I guess Schache can go back but that would throw all fwd structure out.

Well if we mean business you shouldn’t be. Just expect to weather the blame if we have a poor one 👍

The Collingwood bridegroom outfit.

I wish the weather was cool here in BKK. Youre lucky in Melb.. 35c often rising to 40 by early evening. Cool change wont come till after midnight every night. F##%#k terrible.

I dont feel the humidity though. Im acclimatized. Tourists should never come here in the hot season. Nightmare.

go dees

Going to the game with 13 people from work.

10 of them are Collingwood supporters.

Please… PLEASE… just win Dees.

Could be a bloody annoying night if we don’t.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
