How in earth does McKay get off on that late hit. It is ridiculous, farcical and a completely inconsistent with what we have seen in the past.

But are we surprised…. not  one bit. Protected club.

He wears old dark navy blue. Just pathetic.

The AFL tribunal is a joke. Carlton argued that McKay was trying to ‘push’ - but with 2 elbows up that hit him clear in the head.

It’s like the tribunal is so at pains to declare its independence from the AFL that it deliberately flies in the face of what the league claims it’s trying to do.

Protect the head - but run at a guy with both elbows up and hit him in the face, that’s fine.

Rohan gets 1 week and Day gets 2 weeks for dangerous tackles. I thought Rohan’s looked worse.

agree. maybe it was because the hawk just bounced back up straight away

still the potential for serious damage looked worse in rohan's case

so what is it afl?, the lucky outcome or the potential for head injury - no consistency

I rewatched the incident. McKay wasn't even trying to smother. The ball is kicked very low, why did he immediately go to the head?? Makes no sense at all the decision of the MRO.

fair enough

the way i see the potential rule (trying to apply logic) is there must be sufficient speed or impact involved that there is potential for a worse outcome. like the kozzi incident. i don’t see that in the mackay incident

Looks like you were right.

Beat me to it Gtg. And whilst we’re at it, how did Will Day get two weeks and the other bloke (forget name) got one. Looked identical

the impact was clearly low imo. the MRO should have judged it as such and given a fine to avoid the circus

hope the AFL get sued out of business with the concussion issue then we can go back to the beginning and start again.

A football league by the people, for the people

i love how the AFL outsource accountability to the tribunal

have some balls and make the call initially

And the legal wording in the arrangement will make sure no individual can be held accountable.

Slightly off topic but reported today that Dillon, favourite for McLaughlin's position, has Demetriou as a mentor

The game is in the hands of people who want to make money above everything else

In my opinion

About the 3rd time they have spent  millions on consultants who nominate the 2nd in charge for the top job. Farcical.

No way, we had Terlich and Matt Jones up the top of our best and fairest.

  Player Votes
1 Nathan Jones 365
2 Colin Garland 360
3 Dean Terlich 306
4 Matt Jones 303
5 Colin Sylvia 288
6 Lynden Dunn

Top 6 in 2013 Best and Fairest. Good honest triers, but a far cry from our current list which is stacked with A graders.

Typical Carltank bending the afl over and over again and again🤑

Whately summed up the McKay finding as follows: I have never heard such mumbo jumbo in my life.

I have, in the Cripps Appeal last year.

A Carlton fan tried to tell me last night that the MRO is too busy protecting themselves against future CTE cases..

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
