Just saw a post from MFC still advertising the Grand Final Guarantee, has our form been that shaky that these are still available with one round to go?

Yes, the club is currently selling this and it is available until this Friday 12pm "or until sold out". I bought some today. The two people I spoke on the phone to explained the process very well.

I'm flabbergasted that these GF guarantees are still available. We're not exactly North Melbourne.

Would've thought they'd be harder to get than a Willy Wonka golden ticket given we've got top 4 locked in.

Not sure if its cost of living crisis but thought it sold out much sooner in 2021 and 2022. But found it a little surprising theyre still available given we're up and about and for most of us, the only success we've seen we had to witness in lockdown on our tv.

I don’t like it. So as a long term member who has spend thousands over the years especially when we could not beat time with a stick. I have the same opportunity as someone who spends $30. So much for locality.

Well you get priority 3 for GF tickets. Priority one is gone and has been gone for a long long time to those of us who have committed for years.

I was not referring to the GF, as I read it buying a $30 membership gives someone the same rights as me to other finals games or am I wrong?

Yes it's priority 3 NOT Priority 1.Big difference.

Let's see how everyone feels next week if we play the Pie and it's a sell out. Not sure if the GF guarantee can be added to this "I hope not" but if I was a Pie Lions or Port fan it's a good investment.

This deal is Priority 3 and is not a GFG. I believe any member can get P3. As an introductory offer at the end of the H&A season, it's a great opportunity for the club to generate new members who may become ongoing members

If you are Trident or Redleg you get higher priority and a GFG. Is that what you are, old dee?

I'm fairly sure weeks one two and three all members are on the same level.

Correct. There is no guarantee you’d get a ticket let alone a GF ticket. If the allocation is exhausted at priority 2 for example then bad luck.

I thought it went down the priority number list until allocation exhausted?

Only for the GF. Other finals all members have access to the same allocation (correct me if I'm wrong @FearTheBeard but that's my understanding anyway).

upto a point.

priority still ensures better options in finals weeks 1 to 3

those with reserved seats get to book earlier than ga members, so more choice

all club members should have no trouble getting tickets for mfc games in weeks 1 to 3

Yes no pecking order first come first served!

Unless we play Pies maybe?

if it's like last year, members without reserved seats (priority 3) can only get onto ticketek at a later time than priority 1 and 2 members. so they get more choice.

this year we don't really have any priority 2's because all reserved seat members have compulsory gf guarantees which is priority 1 (the price of which is built in) This was a bone of contention for me as i wanted to buy some memberships with a reserved seat and no gf guarantee, but I couldn't.

they should get the same size allocation as us i think because it's finals and we are both melbourne clubs. not 100% sure though as it would at least nominally be their home game being higher on ladder.

Assuming we play Filth in the QF, it will be their home game.
Does that mean less tickets allocated to MFC members?
Scared it’s gonna sell out in 4 seconds to the filthy hoards…FREAKING OUT, MAN!! 🤯

I think I recall last year we could purchase a number of tickets per membership for the first finals games (Sydney, Brisbane). I’m guessing that this time against Collingwood perhaps we can only get one ticket per member?  (Logic being that there are more members than seats at the G). Does anyone know?

No. Finals tickets are split 50/50 as far as club members are concerned.

That being said it probably will sell out quickly.

They've mooted it will be the Thursday night game which sucks but they know it would sellout anyway so they can put it on then.

Not correct, if like last year. Reserved seat members get first dibs

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
