Not really hearing anything leaking out of the MFC. Hearing a couple of whispers but nothing really solid.

Heard a couple of people say that they believe Flynn will get across the line to us. I think that would be a good result.

Mc Adam move might be in doubt. No idea why and I do not rate this whisper.

Have heard that the club has a few different strategies in play and that the direction they take will be dependent upon what trades fall early, and not just trades we are involved in.

Harmes more than likely to stay along with Tomlinson.

I did hear that there may be a key positional switch coming up during the preseason. Will keep the name to myself until after the trade period.

Heard nothing re: Oliver except what has been on here.

Rivers to the midfield… you beauty

Why’s that?

You're going to stop supporting the club for trading one player? Beyond pathetic.

If this happens, the reasons will be valid. Based on information you don't have.

swans picking up all the second rung mids - jj from us and dow from the blues

Maybe, but every so often one of those second strings turns into a solid best 22 performer at another club.

Still spewing we let go of Toby Bedford though.  He had potential best 22 written all over him, but I think we just needed him to be more patient with oppertities to get confident and prove it at the MFC.

Don’t think there was any ‘let go’ about it - he got a better offer

Clarry has the realistc opportunity to be the B & F record holder in the oldest football club (in the world?).  He also has claims to potentially be our greatest ever player and multiple premiership player.

That's a truly unique status that I find impossible to believe he would give up, even if he doesn't see eye to eye with a particular high performance manager.

You’re not a trade breaker

Pretty sure I broke the story about Ben Kennedy coming to us.

I’ll take apologies now.. THIS is what was coming, as paired couple wks back, of which, I confirmed this morning!

Picks 2+3 for Oliver & a later pick.

Anything to say dazzle & co? What was it, 3wks ago?

need to see final products, but could either be best thing ever and set us up for a decade OR be looked back on as the dumbest move of all time but seemingly Clarry has made his bed. Unfortunately

So North is the club who wants him I assume Nudge given the picks on offer?

Im going to again offer a counter view.

If as you suggest Oliver is untouchable..  no one would have enquired.

Somewhere... someone... has let a door crack open.

No one asks about Max, Trac or Jack... but strangely there's a story surrounding Clarry.

Think about that.

Nope, we put word out amigo

I don't think he was a free agent was he?

And if I recall correctly may even have still been in contract.

This attitude we have at the MFC of helping players get to the club and trading low value 2nd / 3rd rd picks or worse for them has its drawbacks and sometimes I think we need to hold on harder to some of these types of players.

With Bedford we'd put multiple years of development into him and he was just starting to show the fruits of that investment and we let him go, what I would call cheaply.

Yep. That’s been the talk! I hope you’ll now understand, had I mentioned any sort of specifics, and it fell through - I’d of liked like a the biggest tool alive and been torn apart and had to higher a new name and I’ve been here since day dot basically so wasn’t gonna do that. Oh yeah, and I’d of clearly been the source and burned my real self HARD, that too 🤣😂😇

You absolutely did not predict this at all re Oliver.

God you speak some absolute [censored].

Throw a few arrows and hope they stick eventually.

Do you know what's the ultimate plans for these picks? Reid and a key forward?

I remember you posted being very happy about what's to come, can't imagine many people would have thought Oliver leaving would be a part of that.

Ur such a beautiful, adroit contrarian - nah it was the OTHER news that’d rock the foundation of the AFL, that I then confirmed this morning would be revealed TODAY!!! Mamma Mia 🤦‍♂️

Overs. Take that deal and run Timmy!

Don’t appreciate being called pathetic l travel 8 hours in a day every second week to watch them play & have been a fully paid member for 35 years, so you can stick that where the sun dont shine

Not saying it’s going happen but if it does!!!!!

Good clubs don’t trade 4x best & fairest, premiership & a once in a generation player

He along with Robbie Flower is the best player I’ve seen at the club.

Good clubs don’t let this happen, they back their player to the hilt, which l expect we will do.

But if they don’t they won’t be getting anymore of my hard earned money or match attendance

The club thinks we are one of the big boys, let’s see if we are & support Clarrie through thick & thin

Not overs. For every good pick 2 and 3, there are dozens very ordinary ones who will never come close to being as good as Clarry.

I remember when we were trading up for Reid cause we won't have many list spots...now we'd be lucky to field a side

No I said I left with a grin.. cus I couldn’t blv the balls of it, but all I knew then was it was a key player and love it because it showed me we were prep to risk it all, which I love! But in cold light of day, unless it’s Harley & Walter (which it rly can’t be) even now it’s got my stomach in knots. Didn’t hear Clarry name till the following Monday. Maybe if we didn’t have as many donks as we do here. I’d of shared that it was a player, but I knew I’d it didn’t amount to anything I’d never hear end of it, so I guess ultimately the dazzle donks like adonski & Tremblay win!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
