He's quick and handles and uses the ball really well. I like this potential acquisition. I have a feeling that the Covid period did his development no favours and getting a proper run at it will greatly benefit him.

its worth remembering in his two years at port they made back to back prelim finals, and had motlop and gray i50 and he came through the year after butters and rozee who at the time were also playing as small forwards along with brad ebert and boyd woodcock so it was a real position of strength for the power at the time. he barely got a look in even when he was fit

Recruited a lot of height this off-season.

Given Bedford's departure seems a wise depth option?

That's an impressive little highlight reel from one game, very positive. Look forward to seeing him on the track.

Are they mates?

Does anyone have any observations of these guys in action? Or if Burgoyne is over his injury run?

Jase was Kozzie’s guest at the B&F and they appeared to be joined at the hip. I asked Kozzie for a pic and no, I’m not name dropping except I totally am and I invited Jase to join in. Kozzie was rapt. Jase was a little shy and was like, nah it’s ok, just you. Kozzie says, nah man, she asked for you too and I chirped in saying, yeah man, I asked for you too! 😁 And so I got a pic with both boys, beautifully taken by Ricky Lever, again, not name dropping. Again, am

That is not only pace, that reel shows white-line fever for the ball and the direction. Notice how he straightens up to a direction through gapping, and in turn, straightens up the whole team movements, as well, as a consequence? Even to the oncoming forwards readying for the 'receive'. Eyes up, always, entering the forward zones. Like it, not fazed by big bodies around him looking for action.

Our forwards will have to retrain, or else he will have to learn to bomb it high and long !!🙄

Going by big @kev martin chat with Alan Richardson it looks like Trent will be at the Casey Demons this year if we don't select him.

Good to hear he's living with Kozzie.

They’re saying he’s been offered a place at Casey after missing out on the SSP.

Good luck and thanks Trent.

It should be added that for much of the time he was at the club, he was in some form of rehab and was unable to really show his wares. Hope he takes up a place at Casey and works his way up through there.

Hope he keeps Kossie happy in Melbs and helps him sign the contract 😉

Hope Kossie's not upset that his mate didn't make the 2023 squad.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
