One of the best medium forwards in the business and a great reader of the flight of the ball in the air, Fritsch passed the half century in goals for the second year in a row but this time in a forward line that was often found wanting in the big games.

"The star forward topped the Demonsโ€™ goalkicking for the third consecutive year with his 55 majors in 2022. Played every game in 2022, scoring in each match. Signed a new long-term deal at the end of last year to keep him at the Demons until at least 2026." - Herald Sun

Another great year from Bayley Fritsch and as mentioned by Durango he missed TMacs and Bbbโ€™s presence in our forward line. He received a lot of extra attention this year but still shone through showing his class. Where would we have been without Fritta and Kozzie this year.!!

Another great year Fritta Keep ย up the good work as the cavalry are coming to help out, Petts and JVR!!!ย

The only slight knock on Fritsch was his slight inaccuracy and unreliable set shots for goal at the end of 2020 into the early rounds of 2021.

However, over the last 2 seasons he's kicked 114-46 which is elite.

Easily our best forward and probably between the 5th and 8th best player on the list

It was an excellent move at the time to get him to re-sign for 5 years fresh off a 6 goal GF.ย ย

Fritta is awesome on-field and a cheeky bugger off-field. At the B&F he said to me, โ€œSo, youโ€™ve met Nat?โ€ (his girlfriend). I said โ€œyeah I have, several times, sheโ€™s awesome,โ€ then I said โ€œyou know youโ€™re punching, right?โ€ He calls her over and says, โ€œNat! WCW reckons YOUโ€™RE punching.โ€ All good though, Nat knew it was just Fritta being Fritta.

Kicking 50+ goals without regular big bodied support was a remarkable achievement, and frightening for oppositions when / if we get TMc, JVR, ?HP to support him and take a big defender.

PS or even BBB back able to run and get his feet off the ground.ย

I just love that Fritta has really dialed in his set shot routine now. It wasn't that long ago when we all complained his kicking was costing us games and I'm sure there was a lot of work put into this behind the scenes with great rewards.

I was critical of the selfish moments in games in the middle of the season but the airplay this got in the media and David King's BBQ nickname went over the top I thought.

Solid season, often as the no.2 key target. Great job Bayley!

Geez, something really sounds excitingly good about that prediction.ย

Even before he got to the firsts on debut, Fritta was a '...must get at all costs...'. It is no ambit claim; he is worthy of the accolades that he now attracts in the red'nblue.

If Tracc hadn't gone ballistic could have been a worthy NS medallist.

Hope it's right in 2023 Deem as we deserve that ability to score heavily and in bang bang bang patches!ย

Great watch!

Forward craft, contested marking and a lethal finisher.ย

Not a lot of goals coming from free kicks either. He works hard for his opportunities.

Is really an A grader now and vastly underrated by other Clubs fans. Great to watch his smooth class and skill as he boots the goals also.ย

Fritter is an absolute weapon hate hearing from other supporters his selfish because the media said it for 3 weeks and people just like to jump on.

Fritta is all class and poise!! Just had a look his goal assists stats in 2022 and he is up there with the league bests.ย
ย

Does not get the recognition he deserves. I know we all love him on here, but is he underrated within the old faithful too?? All this talk of forward line woes yet we have two of the best in Kosi and Fritta.ย

Should of been AA last year.

Fabulous display of mixed forward craft - marking, leading, crumbing fumbles (a specialty of his playing the Bulldogs) , snaps, and great kicking.

But also a sad reminder of how many "comfortable leads" we threw away in the second half of the season. ย Hopefully a lesson learned.

ย

If you kick 50+ goals in a season and/or make the All Australian 40 squad, you automatically attain A grade status for the following two seasons in my eyes. Fritta achieved both last year (not to mention the 59 or so goals he kicked in 2021!)

Who would've thought we would've gotten such a productive forward resulting from the speculative draft pick (mid 30's) we got in exchange for Jack Watts. It's a great story.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
