Sydney struggled with the saints today we can beat them. Have faith.

Yep all good old dee I have faith that our best is the best, just hope we can bring it the next month.  But I am certainly nervous how Sydney play against us, much more than the Cats.

Where can I get a can of these Carlton tears, so sweet.

Front bar will be must watch TV this week.

They have hosted finals there previously.

Tx Ds. I didn't know that.

I think it's too small for a final's game but it depends who you play..gws maybe but I can't imagine cwood going there without protesting or having 90 % of the tiger army locked out.

I think it's only happened once and that was against a low-drawing Fremantle (who knocked off the Cats!) in 2012.

When the new stand is finished, Geelong would be well within their rights to demand a home final.

Can't be. We're finishing outside the top 4 aren't we? :D

I think you've thrown yourself back in time to when the top 4 teams go into the final series and a bit of MFCSS.

I would be disappointed if we dont get over 65K, Swans have a good following in Melbourne

Let’s get >80k like in ‘87 when we absolutely destroyed them!

It's kinda weird.

I actually feel bad for Carlton supporters. They were as crap as us for longer than us. I can't believe that I'm going to say this - they actually deserved finals this year.

They shanked it like we did in 2017. Feels bad, man.

True but it's just doesn't sit well with me.

Freo did well to win.

They'll have to make up a batch of Carlton Bitter after their last two games.

Pies have effectively finished top.

They could still end up having to face Sydney in Sydney.

Kiss is playing tonight so why not. Melbourne Rock City!

I understand they are Blues fans.

The rockers might be playing the blues.

Why would you wage a war of words with Melbourne? You KNOW you’ll come off second best…

Their equivalent of our final round loss was against Adelaide in round 20. Their last two performances were remarkable considering their outs and the quality of the opposition (hurts me to say it but the Pies just won’t die!).

Interestingly we’ve reached full maturity. We went 11-0 against teams outside the 8. The knock on us last year was we were off our game and dropped games against bottom teams (Pies, Hawks, Adelaide, GWS). Our 5-6 record against the top 8 is less impressive than last years 8-1 but let’s make up for that in the finals!

It seems carlton learnt something from the Dee's when in doubt just bomb into pockets and hope, only themselves to blame.

I’ll never forget Sean Wight and Rob Flower’s efforts that day!
I think Sydney had kicked 30 goals in a match 2 or 3 times that year. We were massive underdogs and absolutely killed ‘em!

I'd love it if they had some kind of finals campaign they released too early.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
