This has been a different game style. We haven't played this "brand" for weeks. Great to see.

We finally dumped that bog awful half to 3/4 ground fold back zone.  Too easily sliced and diced and plays into Freo's game style big time in particular.

In their face from the get go and thats how it should be if you're gonna win against the top clubs.

Not sure why we revert to the former so often.  Looks great when everyone's in form and up and running on top of the ground early in the season.  Once the real stuff starts and the pressure goes up it's too easily picked apart.

My bro is at the game and made a couple points RE:  Weid.

He thinks he's playing as a decoy forward leading defenders into space away from the 'hot zone.'  It looks like his role is to try spread the defence tonight...... or he's just not smart with his leading patterns

Also, he's spent a hell of a lot of time on the pine for someone not injured.

It’s Game Day and the Demons have made the long trip west to take on Fremantle tonight at Optus Stadium. Can Melbourne make it two from two to start the season, and what are you hoping to see from the Dees under the lights in Perth?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.
