His brilliance and determination have masked how poor our midfield is performing this year. It feels like an eternity since we won the clearances and could stop opposition midfields charging through the corridor. Would be in a world of pain without Clarry doing his bit.

Still hasn’t learned how to kick, but at least he hasn’t mastered kicking to the opposition like Petracca

Petracca tries to do it all him self, Clarry actually does it

He genuinely looks like a man playing against boys with how well he wins contests

Can win genuine contests (i.e. not talking about the contested posession stats necessarily, but those genuine one on one, 50/50 contests where if you win it you either drive a meaningful F50 entry for us or stop one for the oppo). Sadly outside of him, Gawn, Brayshaw and May (and probably Petty) we have too many who just can't win or half those contests.

No Doubt he is the most important player in our list. He's our barometer, when playing great you know we are a chance no matter the odds.

I believe his contract situation is paramount to that of Jackson.

Dare I say the order of priority as of today is:

Oliver

Brayshaw

Jackson

A Million a year over 7 should do it!! I mean Viney got a very generous offer that I thought was far too generous... Clarry is a much better player and should be after top dollar. If we don't pay it all the other clubs will! Gladly!

43 disposals at 81%. Really? He was creative with hands and his feet today and hit the scoreboard. Incredible post...

Went at 81% today.
It’s a fallacy that he can’t kick. He disposes of the ball under more pressure than anyone else.
He is a freak. We are absolutely [censored] without him.

One goal, plenty of nice short kicks, the number of times he’s run through the centre and hit a leading forward for the year is still under 5.

He might be the best player in the comp but there’s still a major limit to his game.

Seriously what do you want 50 possessions at 100% and 5 goals??Give me a break!

Absolute gun. End of.

A few feral filth supporters sitting around us today thought otherwise and weren’t afraid to let the whole bay know it…….but deep down, like the supporters of every other club, I know how jealous they are he’s not on their side.

Should have got 2 more (free) kicks too that the umps didn’t pay when he got tackled head on with his head over the ball. Collingwood also got a goal as a result of one of those not being paid

That I can agree on. If there’s a player who deserves a HS back page about his poor treatment by the umpires it’s not the Collingwood kid

He goes alright he’s not perfect but where screwed if we don’t have him. I think his kicking could become more damaging if only someone else was feeding the ball out to him. My favourite Demon of all time and getting harder and harder to think of a better Demon in my life. Really hope he signs a contract extension to be a Demon for life.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
