Genuine chance of happening apparently.

Rumour is talks, and potentially offers, have happened.

Yeah 100%. Don't know how much of a chance, Walker may decide he wants to stay at the Crows, but just heard the Dees were keen.

I love this club and I have no reason to doubt our management, given it's been impeccable for a long time now.

But I would have had a very hard time reconciling getting Walker to the club, no matter how good a player he is or how badly we need another established key forward.

Thank goodness that is off the table now. The man is a cultural cancer. He can enjoy his empty trophy cabinet at Adelaide.

Thank christ. One less geriatric that gets bandied on these boards to put up with.

Haha of course. Would have been surprised if he didn't stay a 1 club player, but thought a slightly longer contract might have tempted him. For reference, the rumour came directly (not directly to me though) from the team bus after the Geelong game.

There was no team bus…

‘Nev’ I quoted your post in it’s entirety. The selective quoting was in relation to when you deleted parts of another posters larger post to suit your narrative. No need to get your knickers in a twist.

I also heard a rumour from a bus driver once - but when the bus went below 50 the bomb didn’t explode, so me, Keanu and Sandra just got off at our stop.

I thought I saw footage of Bowey getting into his car and driving himself there. Would make sense so as to minimise spread of covid, flu, fan gossip, etc

Yep, short trip, the players drove, quite a few go the night before.

On topic thank heavens not..

Sorry, who’s getting outraged by trivial stuff?

Wait, what?

YOU were outraged by the trivial matter of Tex having a crack at Lever for leaving, and considered it a "strike" for which he was given a chance to come back from.

Take a look at yourself mate. Laughable.

Was there a specific reason why he lost the captaincy? Or was it just a decision made to 'focus on footy'?

Sorry layzie, I don’t know and to be honest I don’t care. It is my hope that this thread closes so that his name is not a focus on DL anymore. Of course that is just my bias that the MFC and TW should never be spoken of in the same sentence (like I just did……spit!)

Haha appreciate the honesty Froggy! Probably time to wind it up!

I realise you're only being serious*, but there are problems with this scenario.

1.  He can't play for us this year so won't be part of 2022's back to back.

2.  If he plays in our 2023 premiership team, we would have gone back to back to back.

3.  If we don't win it this year but go back to back in 2023 and 2024, Tex will be about 45 years old by then.

It's all too difficult to envisage and therefore unlikely for mine.

* This post is equally as serious.

Maybe stone was meaning the threepeat?

I said it was an “incident”. Do you know what “incident” actually means? It’s something “incidental”. Would you have liked me to call it a “happening”? An “occurrence”? A “whoopsy”?

It was a slightly-newsworthy incident (and remember, incident doesn’t have to mean “big deal”) of a captain publicly potting (twice, mind you) an ex-player for changing clubs. That’s all. I wasn’t “outraged” by it. Just another dumb-arss feather in his dumb-arss cap. But as is typical of you lot (people who think anyone who has a problem with Tex Walker is an “activist”), you’re far more eager to be outraged than anybody, but the hypocrisy is absolutely lost on you.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
