I donโ€™t mean to be disrespectful, but that jumper looked like they were in Peter Alexander pjโ€™s with the long sleeves.

I only care that Langdon is okย

This game was another 4 points we bank and move on from.ย

No team should ever win a game of AFL by a 100 points. Only happens if a team throws in the towel. North did not do that this evening. A 50 point win in the circumstances is a fair reflection of our superiority

The real test for us is Freo next week. I'm sure our performance level will lift and we'll win that game.

So, when did the rule change?ย  Back in the day, if a player was tackled and failed to correctly dispose of the ball (kick or handball), he was penalised.ย  Lost count of the times tonight where that went unrewarded.ย  (Yeah.ย  I know.ย  What's new?)

The hit/tackle similar to the one Chandler got 2 weeks for??

Yep and I bet North player wonโ€™t get suspended.ย

Some of you just donโ€™t know how long a footy season is to play. The fact that we won so convincingly when they obviously steeled themselves for this, is testament to the great group we have.

Also, we are in better form than last year. That doesnโ€™t mean anything for the end of the year but we are in another great spot.

A shout out to the arrogant North fan next to me who, when North got 2 points up said โ€œwe have a young listโ€ฆ itโ€™sย all downhill for you nowโ€ย

Enjoy that shiny spoon ย

yes he lifted him off the ground and slammed him in to the turf

.

Great tackle but if compared he should be rubbed out in my opinion

I actually rate it as a really good win. North were very, very good - tough at the ball, brutally physical (a bit too much at times) and ripped through us with a short passing game they could not sustain. We stood up, although we were horribly unclean for the first half.

Clarry - superstar

Well done Tmac, Spargo, May, Sparrow in the 2nd half, Lever in patches.

Lots of handball practice this week at training please.ย

Jeez mate, the facepalm brigade will be all over you.

I think it is not a patch one last years epic effort but my missus just asked me to buy one for her so I guess its 50/50 in my household.

That ground is a nightmare for the players like a skating rinkโ€ฆinjuries seem to happen a lot more often there too glad we arenโ€™t running out on it too often.

They were really sour today all day. I was a bit surprised at how often they whinged and had tantrums about obvious free kicks.

They seemed very unlikeable - and Iโ€™d know.

So youโ€™re saying your wife has questionable taste?

Was worried when Clarry took out a clump of turf on the wing & looked to have injured himself. Fortunately not the case.

I like it and so did my 9yo. Different people have different opinions. We live in Australia and different opinions are allowed as far as Iโ€™m aware ย

Lets be honest here the place is a [censored] Right?

You wanna know why people donโ€™t go to the games? Because I have been waiting 38 minutes for a train post game! Insane.ย

She loved it at first sight. Although for a relatively recent arrival to the country (she does her citizenship ceremony on Tuesday) she really has developed a mental disorder when cheering for the Dees. I swear she would physically harm anyone in our house who spoke negatively against the Dees on game day.

.......aaaand so I will do the right thing just as soon as it is listed in her size on the Demon shop. Cos, you know, i don't want to die just yet.

ย

oh, and my own mother has been telling her she has questionable taste since day 1.

A few supporters are hard to please.ย
Early 80s at the G you would only go to watch Robbie! 1st year of Roos and pre Roos there were some horrible losses and we didnโ€™t win to often.

We have a great team, who play fantastic team football, with some generational players, who have delivered a flag and taken us to 10-0!

So for crying out loudโ€ฆโ€ฆ.Enjoy Every Win!

Keep going Demons!!!!

Pros:

- We got the 4pts (and makes it 10-0 to start the year, one better than last season)

- TMac continues to hit the scoreboardย

- Fritta got 3

- Oliver continued his bloody good year

Cons:

- seems likely a costly day medically speaking; Lingers, TMac, Gus, even Trac at one point all looked very sore/injured

- our goal kicking failed to put a team away earlier again

- our inside 50 efficiency continues to be sub-par

Iโ€™ll also put a question to Demonland: are we playing arrogant and will it come back to bite us?ย

I just feel watching us the last couple of weeks we almost donโ€™t care against lesser opposition. They seem to go hard for a period and then leave it at that, the hunger hasnโ€™t there recently.ย

Next week is a massive game, we play like weโ€™ve been playing the last two weeks and we will fall to Freo.ย

Happy to bank the 4 points and move on, but I hope there boys will be switching on through the week. Oh, and how Brown managed to miss that soda in his 150th is beyond me. One of his worst games for the club, shame it had to come against his old side.ย

EDIT one other thought: Luke Jackson hasnโ€™t been on for a while. Not suggesting he get dropped but any thoughts on why this could be?

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturdayโ€™s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFLโ€™s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
