Training gallery shows Jackson training yesterday, if he’s one of the 3 it means he’s tested positive after the session or this morning. How often do they get tested these days?

There was a gallery released yesterday which Dogga was involved, however in todays LJ was not seen. Nor Trac, or Kozzy

Max and Langdon also in the photos, can’t see Gus in any of the photos.

Just looking at the training gallery from today. Assuming that the infected players wont be at training today. And so here is what i was able to see (or not see):

no LJ
no Trac
no Sparrow
no JJ
no Viney
no Kozzy
no BBB
no Brayshaw
no Petty

But there were pics of May, Lever, Hunt, Rivers, Smith, Bowey, Hibberd, Gawn, Clarry, Dunstan, Lingers, Baker, Fritch, Weid, Tmac, ANB, Milkshake, Bedford, Mitch Brown & Majak

Just tried to load up on the Hawks but Sportsbet gave pulled the game.

I think TMac will come in for LJ and we may possibly use one of the 3 forwards to rotate through the ruck as they all have a level of experience.

Agreed, I think Weideman goes into the ruck but would love to see Daw get a chance.

Haha yeah Just discovered the same thing - although I wasn't going to load up on the Hawks.

We've got Lever and Viney coming in- 2 handy players.

If Dogga is out Tmac will get the nod - he does a fair bit of forward ruck work anyway.

Dunstan will stay and only be better for the run. And plenty still to choose from.

If we were playing Brisbane or Freo, I might have a concern but Hawthorn .......... meh ...... 4 points on the way.

I spy with my little eye:

Dunstan, Gawn, Oliver, Smith, May, Baker, Fritsch, Langdon, Melksham, Hunt, Van Rooyen, Harmes, Chandler, Lever, Turner, McVee, Weideman, Hibberd, Rivers, Daw, M Brown, TMac, ANB

And interestingly Bedford (picture 19 of 22).

Yze said Viney returns tomorrow.

Of our best 22 candidates I can’t see Trac (please god no!), B Brown (unlikely, just had it), Jackson, Bowey (Demonland I can’t see him which photo?), Petty, JJ, Sparrow, Kozzie, Spargo, Brayshaw, Tomlinson.

I hope it’s our VFL boys (no offence guys), worrying if Bedford has it as it looks like he was there…

EDIT: while I was writing Jackson was confirmed.

Ladbrokes also pulled the game.

Mined you we are now $2.70 to win the flag. Might be wrong but never seen a team that short after 6 rounds.

Yep and Lever was meant to be there today.

At the end of the day every club has and will be impacted by Covid. It’s best to have it happen now and get it going thru the club than come finals. The players and coaches infected during the season should have decent immunity up until the end of the season now which is good.

Of course nobody wants Covid and I suspect the recent issue with Wines is probably a post Covid issue as the exact same thing has happened to my friend post Covid. But it’s 2022 and we need to get used to this new reality.
At least we have guys at Casey who are dying to take their chances at senior level.

It’s only Wednesday don’t be surprised if there are more, this could hurt us for a couple of weeks with players missing training, but better it happens now and not in September

Me too.

Deserves a shot.

its possible, but we will know most of it by now anyway, with Omicron typically taking 3 days to cause symptoms. PCR test will probably pick it up as early as day 2 following exposure. So we may get another few tomorrow given LJ was at the light-run yesterday if the reports are true.

Bedford being there today definitely worries me.

He may have already had Covid recently

But training was at Casey; why would Christian be at AAMi, assuming that video was taken today.

He's been sub for 6 straight weeks, so wouldn't think so.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
