Finally able to sit down to watch some footy today. My goodness I despise Essendon. I reckon I barrack harder against them than any other team. I simply hope they fail. And that spud ruckman of theirs; if Cody Weightman is the most punchable head in footy, this bloke is a close second. Whinging moaning, dill.

I still don’t understand how this guy is so despised, like wtf?!

If she lives near Mooroolbark, I’ll pass on her details to Bombers “mate”, they’ll be peas in a pod.

I saw him get interviewed in the rooms after the North game Cards and he comes across as a ripping kid. Lots of people had the same opinion of Jack Riewoldt until he started appearing on 360.

Hahahhahahah she’s doing well on the treadlie with a slab then! My old mate has an empty beer fridge so all things look good.

Wow, they just pointed out that Essendon have conceded 97 or more points in all five matches this year.

Riewoldt was an absolute plonker early to middle doors, the fence jumping incident to avoid the media really stands out. Weightman has shown none of that, I find it fascinating but really odd.

It was actually a kid’s bike. I’m sure I could hear the tyres screaming in pain.

Bomberblitz is melting. 😂😂

My hatred ( I know wasted energy) of Essendon knows no limits. What they did to the competition with drugs ( whatever it takes - James Hird) I just cannot get over. And how weak the AFL were. I have missed the last two Melbourne V Essendon games as I cannot cope with their supporters. The only fight in the MCC that I noticed was way back when Salem won us the game. Two Essendon supporters went feral and started jumping seats to punch Melbourne supporters and fair and square hit two women. They were stopped by security and turned out to be sons of an Essendon member. Father lost his rights for quite a while.

Generally will not watch any match with them in it but flicked onto #504 and am enjoying Fremantle's game. BURY THEM FREO.

Rant over.

An Essendon loss. How terribly sad 🤣

I just had an awesome image of heaps of ESS kids saying to there feral family “Na [censored] em, I’m now a Dees fan, Bummers are chit!”

Rant fully justified. 🙂

Essendon are rubbish despite every AFL Media hack wanting them to be the next big thing.

Their list is average. Every team has a couple of Star players but there are only a handful in the league with any depth.
I think Demonland should replace all media outlets to cover all official AFL media from now on. Maybe then some sense shall be written! Fremantle are a team in the up! What a surprise when you look at their slow list build which is slowly taking shape!

Geez Essendon fans are feral. And I know this for sure coz I just spotted a couple of people in the crowd that I’ve seen around my suburb. My most recent sighting was the old push-bike ride with one hand on the handlebar and a slab under the other arm. (Coz no licence coz drink driving probs.) And fish n chips package occy-strapped to the parcel rack. And with a cigarette hanging outta the beak. And it was the woman! No [censored]. True story.

Toorak has really gone downmarket.

Freo looking really good. Seem to have eliminated their error prone game that ruined their season last year. Their defence is awesome so far as well.

Crows by 1 pt, loss to Sts by 10 pts, Eagles by 55, GWS by 34, Bombers today. Not a great form line.

Blues, Cats coming up followed by North and Suns… what a draw.

Not quite, lots of shocking skill (basic skills like marking by themselves) and decision making errors.
‘but they are better as a group.

aren’t both Bradshaw brothers talented and hard working.  Did they leave nothing in talent  for the third brother (short stint at west Coast ).

Happy bombers lost.  Rutton didn’t look very happy 😊

The bombers season is over in round 5.  how good is life?!

Freo look solid, arguably the best defence after us - only team to have conceded less than us.  When Fyfe comes back, they'll be top 8

Hmmmm sounds like they will be in a good position to make a decent pitch to Jackson 😩

What a pathetic football club

Dodoro, rutten, xavier.

sack please

Golf game booked for Anzac Day - cannot watch this rubbish anymore.

This is flat out embarrassing. Getting destroyed by a lower mid table interstate team on our home deck. Just pathetic.

Rubbish captain. Below average player. But we don’t have the balls to do anything about it

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
