Watching the Hawthorn and North game reminder me so much of 2009 Melbourne when we would battle other bottom 4 teams.

Game littered with skill errors, but was fast and exciting at times.

Good get Daz. Although I would suggest Norf are where we were in 2014/15. They have a couple of superstars in the making.

Meanwhile Draper round arms Ratugolea in the guts and gets a fine.

GC$ over WCE could give it a push.

Inane comments and a truly grating voice.  Can anyone cite any positives?

She's not Tom Morris???

9 points is getting pantsed?

Hi Rod. They were 4 goals down when I posted so there may have been a lag. I think WC had double their score at the time.

I just don't get the appeal. It is such a terrible "song".

It has become a 'cult' victory song for sporting teams around the world.  Melbourne Victory play it at their stadium after they win a game.

Just got home and switched on the box to find GC are getting pantsed by WC reserves. As a sporting non entity they'd be up there with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.

Melbourne Rebels level I’d say, easily up there with the worst professional teams going around.

Why do I see a Levi Casboult on the field?!

Nothing will make me happier than West Coast finishing bottom 4… unless Geelong do (which won’t happen sadly)

Hey Cards. Yeah, they are the Melbourne side that play in some tri-nation rugby union comp aren't they? I think they share AAMI Park with Victory and Storm. I don't know what if any traction they get down here.

I'm not sure that Levi Casboult would even make the covid top up list for any other club but without Ben King for the year beggars can't be choosers.

Not sure how Willie Rioli can cannon into Matt Rowell in the marking contest with no eyes for the footy and it's play on but Weightman gets a free from absolutely insignificant contact from Smith.

West Coast skills keeping them in this. They are killing them by foot.
Gold Coast wasting a million possessions.

Almost buddy, it’s dual nation but not now as such. With covid it went to a NZ comp and Aust comp with finals played across both, this years its hybrid and inc two new teams in Fiji Drua and Monoa Pacifica.

The Super Rugby comp was one of the most exciting competitions in the early to mid 2000s. The Aussie teams were great, you had some amazing players like the great Lomu.

Expansion went a bit pear shaped for the Aussie teams and we’ve gone backwards, New Zealand has lapped us but the worst part was the ARU had to decide between keeping Melbourne Rebels or the WA team Western Force (backed by the billionaire Twiggy Forrest), they chose incorrectly on keeping the Rebels.
We've been terrible and the Force with covid has come back into the Super rugby competition and is doing well.
The traction is zero, it used to be aging a little foothold with ex pat Kiwis, SAFOs, Poms and rugby tragics from northern states with us late bloomers getting stuck in…. Fair to say it’s now give away tickets only.

King out is a disaster for the Suns.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
