um....he is too fat and slow for AFL.

But he is a great kick at goal. Love big nick, but the afl is much too quick for him.

Lets bring bag Freddie Cook! He's kicked hundreds of goals in his career...

get off whateva ur on! Sautner gets cheap goals in a gun vfl side. If anything we need to get rid of him from sandy from a dees point of view because he is keeping our good young players from the forward line, i mean has he ever passed the ball?

Agreed

Sautner should be benched for the rest of the year so Garland and Newton can develop in a key forward post, and not have their career stalled but some big slow goal hungry AFL wannabe

The first post was ridiculous enough....

Demon supporters whinging that their kids aren't getting enough time at FF because Sandringham have one of the best VFL forwards....

Still laughing.... anyone else want to add to this crazy thread?

Sandy paly to win - not to develope MFC hopefuls.

March 07 Tha AFL announced, in consult with all 16 AFL clubs to do away with club affiliations with the VFL etc.

"Either way, all have endorsed the idea of doing away with the farm system and of reclaiming or, in the cases of the South Australian and West Australian sides, gaining total control over the welfare and development of players from draft day onwards".

The sooner the better.

which will mean the development of an afl reserves competition. most likely the 10 vic clubs will have their own seconds comp. i think this is a fantastic idea. it will allow the afl clubs to develop players how they want. they need to make sure that we have lists of 50 players again however, and that all are of a good enough standard. the vfl will be the next comp down. the vfl wont like this as it takes away a certain level of interest in its teams.

I think this decision will destroy the VFL. They will have massively reduced crowds and the like, and for a competition that's already running at a loss, I'm not sure thats a great thing...

Why did they get rid of the ressies in the first place?

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
