We don’t have to accept any Freo offer, that’s the point.

A player we get, might be better than our current option and then is best 22. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a star. As an example, Larkey of the Roos is no star, but is better than our current options.

Yes, and our FD don’t think in terms of getting back picks. They want enough to do what they want to do - ie Hogan got us May, Preuss got us Brown.

If Jackson gets us Larkey that would be excellent. That’s not to say there aren’t other options but as an example - it suits.

If the Dockers can somehow manufacture a top 10 pick this year and send it with next years first rounder I think we take it and run.

Use this years top 10 pick and next years 2 first rounders on role players.

Its how Hawthorn got 3 in a row.

Uhm, thanks?

I’d forgotten how god-awful this was.
Was happy to have forgotten.
Am now on Day One of building up another forgetting of it.

A six year old Col used to find this highly amusing to the point the first team I supported was Geelong.

Perhaps they could remaster it and superimpose it over a film clip of his Open Mike interview. At least in the ‘80’s he seemed relatively cheerful.

LOL. I'm not a fan personally but he loves the national football team and is a life long puddle drinker.

In all fairness, Key Forwards or rucks even rarely have an impact in their first few years. Jackson has had an impact more in the ruck but has done a little damage up forward (well short of what we'd like obviously). His game time is also quite low compared to others, which begs a question around fitness.

I believe it takes about 3 years in the system to build up to the fitness you need

Larkey is one of the better young KPFs IMO. Behind only the Kings, Naughton, Curnow and McKay in the 25 or under.

The club hasn't really got a choice ... when a player leaves the club typically find out in trade week not in the lead up to finals so they have to wait anyhow

Well they do have a choice, they can sit him out for the rest of the season like other clubs have done in the past.

Exactky what kane Cornes thinks also.

Again this week he said LJ is NOT what Freo needs.

He's  not a forward, has no forward craft, he's a No.1 ruck.  They have Darcy, a 24 year old star, why do they want Luke.?

my guess? because sean darcy comes out as contract as a free agent as a 24 year old in two years time

geelong will come HARD for him

That’s a bad result. If Jackson gets us Larkey god help us.

Would it help that I then barracked for Collingwood after that (before finally settling on Melbourne who I stuck with)?

The unicorn was part of Scotland's coinage between 1484 and 1525.

We also had a half unicorn.

I'm guessing the half unicorn wasn't as rare?

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
