There is some sort of "premium edition" Mark Knight poster coming out.  Cost is $70 and MFC members have to pre-register.  Successful members will receive purchase information on Thursday.

Any idea how to find a photo or the number of your digital membership?

I don't have a physical card.

I did a screenshot of my Ticketmaster login on the app and am hoping this is sufficient...

(I foolishly gave up a physical card and opted for digital mainly because, this year aside, I mostly binned the material so I wanted to save paper and cut waste. Big mistake...)

presume it is the same as your barcode used to buy tickets (and on ticketing emails from club)

It says specifically they want membership number not the barcode. Which makes sense as a lot of us gave our barcodes away to people in WA.

Nope - it's the member number, NOT the barcode (which seems to have gone 'poof' after the season ended - not that I used it as an MFC/MCC member).

found an old membership card. yeah, there is a barcode no (12 digit) and a member number (8 digits)\

you could ring club, or, scan through old club emails (if you haven't deleted them)

Ok I paid $40 for the DVD and still waiting for it to be sent, while you can buy it for $27 at jbhifi and it’s in stock. How is that fair?

Ones a giant corporation paying minimum wage and receiving maximum stock and profits and across hundreds of stores. The other is the club getting less and ran by a couple of staff and volunteers in a covid world.
whilst I know it sucks we need to realise the club would be swamped and only have a few people trying to work through the massive backlog.

Just be happy that the club is getting the profits and not who ever the hell owns JB etc etc.

We waited 57yrs, few more weeks hopefully won’t kill us 😂♥️💙

Does anyone know if they release a DVD/bluray equivalent on a USB for those that don't have a player anymore!?

Yeah, I'm wondering this too. All power to people that still have the tech for DVD/bluray (I still have my 'Hotter than Hell' video tape with nothing to play it on!). But I figured there'd be a web-based/digital version. To be honest, even USB is fast becoming redundant...

Speaking of which, just checked and 'Hotter than Hell' is available on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTFtMz53JNc

Bidding for the signed Clayton Oliver premiership guernsey has surpassed $20,000!  Would think there'd still be plenty of bids to come to take Trac's and Gawn's higher than their current $10k and $15k, respectively. Great for the club!

Melbourne sold three years worth of merchandise in the month before the grand final with the Demons poised for a “game changing” windfall that will put them in the top bracket of financially secure clubs.

Melbourne sold $2.7 million worth of merchandise alone in the four weeks before the grand final, which according to CEO Gary Pert was equivalent to three years worth of regular sales.

Melbourne sold 10,000 ‘road to the grand final t-shirts’ and would have made and sold more but they could not source more blue t-shirts and Australia Post warned them not to sell more as they couldn’t guarantee shirts would get to fans before the grand final.

They are fleecing us. The Herald Sun is selling half of the same stuff for less, but as if I’m giving Murdoch my money and not my PREMIERSHIP WINNING DEES the cash for all this trash.

I hope they release a finals DVD set with the 3 finals wins, and some behind the scenes stuff. Will buy.

JB will have these sets eventually they are called Victory Packs and also come with a season highlights DVD. I also saw JB have produced box sets of the entire season for recent premiers. Hopefully these are sold through the MFC too so you can buy direct and give them your money instead of it going elsewhere.

The Weg Posters are just iconic

They should be in The Louvre

I met Weg in 1974, he came to my school. He could knock out a classic drawing in minutes. Lovely man too. I am so glad his legacy is still going

"A man who allegedly robbed a renowned Victorian cartoonist has been caught, thanks to a detailed caricature drawn by his victim.  Police said the cartoonist, Bill 'Weg' Green, who is famous for his drawings of AFL Grand Final posters, offered to draw a picture of the robber when police arrived at his home in Melbourne's east.

Senior constable Aaron Roche, who attended the scene, said: "It was amazing, the likeness was just fantastic."

The sketch only took the cartoonist three or four seconds, Mr Roche said. He said the alleged robber, "picked the wrong place to burgle."

True story

The $2.7 million/3 years worth of merchandise was before the Grand Final victory.

I’ve already spent a fortune on official premiership merchandise so imagine how much the club will make from this.

I thought Pert said since the Prelim. So I thought that included the GF. If not that’s insane. So insane.

The club should sell blue ray players to go with them, we don’t have one in our house any longer lol.

Love it love it LOVE IT!!! I’m sure we’ve all looked on jealously over the years at other clubs reaping the premiership financial rewards be it merch sales or huge member ship base increases.

Pert said on the Dland podcast they expected a $4m profit pre the Queens Birthday/Darwin game no crowds and post that to break even. This is a turn around of monumental proportions and the best part is I’ve now got faith in the club to not stuff the windfall and future membership growth aspirations up.

Understand, but doubling the price? That’s harsh

Where should we be buying our merch from to make sure $$'s go to the club?  MFC store an obvious one.  Does stuff bought from the AFL store provide same $$'s?  New Balance store?  Buying the DVD from JB Hifi (or others)?

I assume I'm not the only whose Facebook feed is now full of Melbourne merch ads from all sorts of places?  Some looks good, but I don't want to buy anything that doesn't feed $$'s back to the club.

Hopefully when we get to have the celebration at the MCG later this year they’ll set up a tent with more merch. Perfect chance to sell posters, flags, hats and tees and get them signed.

The money we’ve already made from merch proves we can be a very powerful club if we just keep succeeding on field.

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
